Good to know, I have 4 alts I didn’t bother capping with this past week and now I know to not bother. Great design as usual by Ion and his cronies.
Yeah, it’s frustrating to say the least. Especially after the pattern of upgrade tokens from season 1.
I have to admit I’m relieved though. Grinding conquest on several characters can be quite tiresome. Now that I know there are no upgrades coming, it’s off my to-do list each week.
if you stay upto date on your conquest cap we are in week 10 which rewards a 400 ilvl weapon week 11 will reward a 400 azerite helm (thats April 2nd).
for those not consistently raiding mythic or high arena ratings youll eventually get it.
So … the 10 quartermaster coins buy an upgrade token that rewards a 380… after farming 10 weeks on 385 ilvl…?
Edit: I just moved and haven’t played in 6 weeks honestly… sorry for coming late to this
That is unfortunately correct.
Lol wtf… cool 5 ilevels on a dagger I DE’d 2 months ago
Awesome
Yes, I did get a 400 dagger the same day I got the token.
I was hoping to be able to upgrade my OH dagger.
I was hoping to upgrade my season 1 socketed bow. But by luck, the 400 bow was socketed too, so it’s almost as good. Still, making the tokens worthless is kind of stupid.
You got lucky for sure. It also makes it easier not having to dual wield weapons.
My rogue has done at least a dozen weapons cache emissaries… not a single warforge
According to 8.1 patch notes and S2 rewards info page:
- Quartermaster’s Coins can be exchanged for a Warlord’s Trophy, which can be used to upgrade a piece of Sinister Gladiator gear to a higher item level.
Note that it says Trophy (purple) and not Sigil. I think the GM you talked to is either misinformed, or they have misrepresented the reward in their official update notes and haven’t corrected it in 11 weeks.
This, unfortunately.
I’m saving my coins in case this gets changed.
Same here, no point in turning them in now, really.
I guess I was assuming that I’d get something useful out of this thing that took 10 weeks of PvP to do. Oh, well…whatever.
I’ve spoken with 3 different GMs in tickets regarding this.
The first told me the quest should reward the sigil, and linked me a wowhead page from a year ago stating it. I linked the s2 reward info page and highlighted where it said this reward was upgraded to a trophy.
The second GM told me that he was unaware and it sounds like a bug and told me to report it. I asked if he could upgrade it for me.
The third GM advised that he could not, but that this was a known issue and being worked on and would be updated in a hotfix. He also told me “good news, hot fixes like this don’t require a patch or reset and can happen at anytime.”
Based off all of this, keep reporting it, don’t let them change. The trophy needs to be implemented or the pvp gearing system really will suck.
I think the most troubling thing is those responsible for answering the tickets (GMs) are all giving vastly different answers. It looks like no one really knows what the coins should reward, despite the s2 blue post showing warlord’s trophy was the reward.
I need you to do my taxes.
Thanks for being so persistent and getting the info.
I’ll be honest. I worked in, trained, and eventually managed customer service at a branch of a multi-billion dollar athletic company. One time, late on a Friday night the marketing team came up with a promotion that they wanted to run for the weekend. The put it on on twitter.
Monday morning came around and customers were calling in to claim their free products. Free products valued at several hundred dollars. We assumed they were trying to scam us. At about noon, the marketing team, still drunk/ high rolled in and asked if anyone had called in about the promo. They were excited. That is when I asked them at what point they planned on letting the rest of the company know. The head of marketing looked at me dead in the eyes and said, “Oh, I was high, I knew I forgot something…”
That is why GMs not having the info does not surprise me.
Don’t bother.
They just clarified on the website that it was always intended to reward battleborn sigil
Maybe stockpile them because 20 will reward a 400 once that ilvl becomes irrelevant maybe?
Lol j/k they’re always gonna be useless unless you get a 360 maledict reward to upgrade
