Conquest catch-up is live, but excludes BGs 🤣

Arena and RBG wins are now worth more conquest than their First Win of the Day was for the last 9 weeks. Regular BGs still reward 8 conquest per win beyond their first win of the day.

Player versus Player

  • Players will now receive 50% more Conquest when participating in Rated Battlegrounds or Arenas until they have completed their 9th weekly “Conquest’s Reward”.

It’s the same “catch-up” mechanic as the one they introduced half way through BFA season 1 (and that brought so many more new players into Arena, right?).

Have fun gearing those alts boys

Lol yea I didn’t even notice the difference in the first season. Still didn’t get a single alt past the 370 gear

I’m sick of Blizzard catering to certain sides of the game. With PvE, it is mythic dungeons. With PvP, it is rated stuff.

To those that love doing rated PvP, kudos and congratulations. I am a bg hero. I just want you unwind with a bg or two after work, and we’re being overshadowed by the big boy PvP’rs.

Would it kill you PvP developers to throw casual players a bone? Rated get their titles, their mounts, transmogs, enchants, etc., I just want to get conquest without having to do those silly invasions, or rated play.

Anyway. Represent us bg heroes!

Ofc they want to push rated content. Randoms do fine either way, rated has been lacking.

It doesnt even really matter because titanforging exists.

ppl r getting 420 ilvl gears+ from doing yolo battlegrounds. its kinda dumb.

I’m not sure about how much of an impact it will make, but I know I’ll at least try capping some alts now in 2s and 3s. So even if it increases participation by a bit, that’s great.

If only they can give us vendors and do some other pvp balance, make things fun for the bg folk, we’d see a big boost.

My one and only issue with catch up for rated only is that it is harder to get alts into rated because of lowish ilvl or maybe you’ve played casual al this time and don’t have flashy achieves.

In randoms you can just queue up and roll with it no matter your ilvl or achieves. Of course playing devils advocate all you’d have to do is a little pve before trying rateds for cap but by then you’ll out lvl your cap rewards lol.

I’ve been doing some 2s but that’s to make sure my main here caps during the week because it ain’t happening otherwise in all likelihood. Good to see this buff I guess?

Would be better in randoms because my alts just do those.

I doubt we will see it in randoms. The random bg population is probably in a decent spot for how low numbers are for BFA but arena participation has plummeted. They will do what they need to in an effort to funnel people into arenas.

I agree that’s what they’re doing, but why “of course”? Wouldn’t it make more sense to push stuff a lot of people like doing, instead of pushing stuff most people have shown they’re not interested in?

Are we sure that rated content should be pushed on undergeared players though?

I understand incentivizing rated participation for those up to date on conquest (or nearly up to date) but for the people trying to catch up?

No. They know enough will do randoms regardless.

Well random is the stepping stone for rated basically. You get some gear and practice before hitting the groups.

?? Can’t you get roughly 150-200 conquest from just wins of the day from random bgs? Between that, and the other easily accessible content a casual bger should be 400 ilvl or close too.

And at what point was a casual bger ever able to hang with a high lvl pve or rated pvp player?

BC comes to mind, and it was possible but very grindy with vendors.

BC? Main slot gear, weapons helm/ chest etc required rated arena for points. The points were given on reset and spent at a vendor. The higher your rating, the more points. High end players could get a piece a week on average. Low end players possibly a month.

Casual bgers could fill the off slots, rings, belt/ etc with gear bought through honor. It took a long time. But rated players frequented casual bgs too, because they needed the gear. And gear mattered.

Later seasons allowed previous season gear to be bought cheaper, but restricted items like shoulders and weapons. A casual bger got stomped about as hard as they do now. Which is actually better than various points where pvp power existed.

I think the main difference that springs to mind for me is that back then in BC we had pages and pages of unique spells, whose utilisation and mastery made more difference than gear to a skilled player. I remember in BGs stripping off enough gear until I felt like PVP was challenging again. What you could do with all those spells as a player was truly magical, and the variety of gameplay offered by them, and other players mastery of them, kept me playing, entertained, and excited, for years.

So you’re alleging that there wasn’t gear falling from the sky like in BfA? No invasions you can complete while looking at the TV and not the monitor? No world bosses you can defeat just by tagging it and there’s 0% chance your group will wipe?

Awesome this is good news

Didn’t someone post in arena that catch up was stealth nerfed (removed)?

Yes this was removed, i dont know why.
