Can we make this earlier plz? We’re still a month away from this.
This xpac is all about warbands and alt friendliness. I won’t deny it’s easier than ever to level to max and gear up for pvp. You can have like 6 epics within a couple hours of hitting 80.
But it gets to a point on characters where you’re stuck and just waiting for weekly caps. I feel it’s really unnecessary at this point, especially as most pve’ers were full geared weeeeks ago anyways. The problem is, say when you want to play multiple specs.
Currently I’m gearing my priest that just hit 80. I’m gearing for disc first, which wants vers/mastery on everything. But say I want to play shadow, that spec (to play optimally) needs full vers/haste gear. I’d need a whole new set of gear to not be suboptimal in a competitive bracket. So then you’re just sitting there kind of stuck, unable to gear for other stats even if you had all the time in the world to farm. If I really cared that much it would be more worth my time to level another priest to 80 and gear as a separate spec with different stats because I’m being timegated. Tbh I think some competitive players are doing that. Pika leveled his second rogue just to gear for outlaw because it wants haste instead of mastery like the other two specs.
Kind of separate argument, but even if conq was lifted - to grind another set is not only time-consuming but pretty expensive these days. Between enchants, gems, different embellishments, and crafting being so important for gearing I’m spending probably well over 100-150k gold per char to gear them. Gearing for pvp and gearing in general should be a little more simplified IMO, and less expensive/reliant on crafting for pvp.
Anyways yeah there’s zero reason to keep us waiting another month to lift the cap on conquest. And lowkey I think stats should be equalized in pvp not to matter as much/prevent stacking one stat or maybe bring something back like reforging to make playing classes with different specs that prefer different stats easier to play/gear.
