No to all suggested changes.

I do not want pets as arcane

Completely wrong

Get your pet loving butts back to ele or warlock where you belong

This is the weakest part of the tree by far. The real benefit is procā€™ing spellfire orbs to generate glorious incandescence procs

In fact, it would be interesting if the Sunfury tree summoned an elemental for the arcane, while keeping the phoenix for fire. Or take another of Kaelā€™thasā€™ iconic abilities to enchant weapons and make them fight on their own to defend him.

Oh I like that, it would be an interesting addition. Especially if the weapon changes to match your transmog or a glyph that picked a random weapon from your bags. Could even be a talent node that modifies Mirror Images.

More options for classes are never bad.
Thats a point that the pet-haters does not understand at all!

Nobody HAS to play with a pet (if you bring it wisely).
Why not change the hero tree if you CHOOSE the perma-water-ele at frost tree or arcane familiar at arcan tree?
So the pet-lovers would have something for them and the pet-haters can play without?!
It would be a win/win

Nah, it should just summon purple phoenixes like Echo of Medivh does in Return to Karazhan.

In this case it is very bad when weā€™re talking about hero trees since they are so spec defining.

Honestly, this is exactly what I pictured when I first saw it called an ā€œarcane phoenix.ā€ I did not expect the DF phoenix pet of that one boss in Aberrus. Itā€™s not bad by any means just not what I expected.

Yeah, as much as I prefer Frost >= Fire > Arcane, I was disappointed to see that the hero tree pretty much only caters to Fireā€™s aesthetic. Frostfire is the only one that I consider that encompasses perfectly the thematic of both specs it represents considering Spellslinger being so lackluster.

It really should have a purple phoenix and spellfire spheres for Arcane and reddish-orange for Fire.

They have NOW the chance to RLY alternate existing playstyles or bring something NEW and excitingā€¦not only heating/re-brining old stuff again +yawn+.

So imagine if the Hero-Tree would be totally switched if Frost Mages would spec into perma-water ele (and some more enh. talents in normal talent tree) and Arcane Mage would spec into their familiar pet.
THAT would be a huge +possible+ impact on playstyle and options!

So we could choose pet vs no-pet and everybody would be happy here

Blizzard you can do that. TRY something rly fantastic and unique please !

Why respond to this guy? He considers Spellslinger to be a class-defining specā€¦ which is laughable. Spellslinger has got to be the most boring hero class in the game. It feels like an afterthought and itā€™s obvious that no creative effort was put into its creation. Between Hero classes like Four Horseman, Diabolist, and Sunfuryā€¦ not to mention the reworks most subclasses are gettingā€¦ and visual faceliftsā€¦ itā€™s just kind of disappointing to see my favorite subclass to be forgotten. I honestly donā€™t know why I play this game anymoreā€¦ I feel like Iā€™m being forced to choose a different class to have funā€¦ which sucksā€¦ all hero classes should be getting the same treatment. Whoever was in charge of the creation of this hero tree deserves to be replaced. I actually cannot believe somebody was paid to create this hastily put together piece of useless trash.

For me, yes. Spellslinger is looking to pull me back to mage and I think itā€™s also looks the coolest out of all three as well.

You know, it was really strange finally getting the tindral oomkin appearance. It was a massive contrast to seeing the new water elemental skins in bfa on my mage: On my druid i was immediately excited and sent a picture of my new customizations to my brother, whereas on my mage in bfa i was wistfully jealous of the mages that could run welly as i was mostly an M+ enjoyer who couldnā€™t stand noil so i was stuck using a boring damage bonus. Youā€™re not wrong. It really does feel like other classesā€™ devs like developing their fantasy compared to mage. Even if they thought temporary welly was the better design, they should have allowed you to keep it around even when IV wasnā€™t active, if only for fantasy reasons.

On one class I could immediately earn something and use it, whereas on the other it would have been gathering dust even if i got it. And even now that i can use the glyphs itā€™s 20% uptime vs all the time. which is cooler? To me itā€™s the thing i unlocked that i can actually have all the time.

Iā€™m not even sure if iā€™ll come back to mage if things improve because iā€™m starting to get really grounded in other classes.
