Confusion about World Scaling - Trying to Farm BoEs for Enchanting Material

I am wanting to fully level my enchanting because some of the enchants from previous expansions are still relevant for leveling or twinks. So I was going to go grind BoE’s for Strange Dust, but the whole classic world content is scaling to level 30. This means all of the BoEs that drop are around item level 25-35 and therefore are not giving the enchanting material I want. All low level dungeons and quest content is scaling up. Do I have to get on an alt around that level and just run dungeons to get BoE’s? Is there a way to farm low-level BoEs? I have noticed Strange Dust is stupid high in price on my server. Is this why?

Something you can do is make low level green gear and disenchant it. I don’t think it scales. Otherwise, I think you have to grind out starting zones. As they only scale to 10 or 15. But, yes, thanks to the scaling it is harder to get low level enchanting mats as you outlevel it quickly.

The way I consistently got strange dust was to craft multiple Double-Stitched Woolen Shoulders on my tailor and DE them. I had the same issue you are having when Shadowlands came out and, thanks to a comment on Wowhead, was able to use that strategy. You can most likely find another item of similar level from a vanilla level profession to do the same, if not from tailoring, or even to try a different tailoring item. You can view the “disenchanted from” list on the Strange Dust Wowhead page and even sort by “source” to view the profession crafted items.

Can’t believe I didn’t think of this. Thank you!
