Confusing FPS issues

Hi there. Since the last reset, I have been experiencing an issue with FPS on only one of my characters.

When I zone into a dungeon on my druid, my FPS drops to 20. On my Warlock, my FPS remains fine (around 90). No matter what I try, I can’t fix it. I disabled all my addons and my FPS remained at 20. My warlock with full addons still around 90.

Can anyone help me out?

sounds like a misbehaving addon . Which can affect only one character.

The issue is still occurring even when I disable all addons

All the settings that addons change on the default client remain in effect after you disable the addon itself. Basically, disabling them isn’t enough. I recommend a UI reset.

What do you mean by a UI reset? Delete my interface folder and start again? If you could walk me through the process I would appreciate it.

Blizzard has the steps here:

Ok, so I went ahead and did this, reset my UI and loaded the game with no addons at all. It made no difference whatsoever. My druid and only my druid still only gets 20fps when inside a dungeon.

At this point your options are to open a ticket and have the staff review your system files, or just skip the wait and reinstall the game. Make sure you don’t transfer over old configuration files with the install or the problem will likely persist.

After asking in the druid discord I found my answer:

The issue was being caused by the Thanksgiving quest “Sharing nature’s bounty” or whatever. I removed the quest from my log and everything is running smoothly again.

Wild, ok. Glad you got it sorted.

So I had been trying everything lately to fix my fps inside m+ dungeons (only m+ for some weird reason), it’s been at least 3 days. I looked at this thread and saw that the solution was to delete a quest, so I tried that myself.

It wasn’t the same quest, but I also deleted a bunch of them and my fps are now back to normal. For reference I had like 30-50 fps inside m+ dungeons. and now I always have well over 100 all the time.

I’m not 100% sure, but I think the quest was “A Message Most Dire” that you get from Alexstrasza. I also noticed that I couldn’t turn in the quest where it was supposed to, since the NPC wasn’t there. Probably something that the devs should be made aware of.
