So I have run a bunch of Mythic 2’s on my main and nothing higher until last night. Guild begged me to run a 16 as there were NO healers on for a few days… well we ended up running about 4 16’s and thankfully I got really lucky on gear.
So this morning I thought I would try and upgrade 1 or 2 pieces the 424 armor I got. This is where I get hazy:
When I go to upgrade it, the tooltip says I need a Wyrm’s Shadowflame Crest which also says I get from Mythic 11-15.
Wait, what? Is this is a mistake? I need to run lower dungeons to upgrade a higher drop? Am I missing something? I’m not angry or being sarcastic, I just am not understanding this logic. Can someone help me? Or maybe there is something that I didn’t understand correctly.
Nah thats basically it, you gotta do the key level for those stones to do that kind of upgrade
Or you can trade in 1 aspect for 1 wyrm at wherever the vendor is
There are some good spreadsheets that explain where everything drops from (I can’t embed links so I can’t share one). I think you basically need one of those until you get your sea legs with this system.
I agree that it’s silly you need to farm low keys to upgrade higher quality items. I suspect this may be something that changes in a future iteration.
Well 424s drop from 15s and 16s. So it’s not that surprising that they would require wyrm crests as there is a 50% that is the key level you are running and if not, you can always just trade the higher tier crest for them in mole town.
I assume the expectation is that you don’t go straight from 2’s to 16’s… Wyrm’s crests also drop from heroic Aberrus, which people who are interested in the gear from 16’s would/should be doing anyway.
Pretty sure there’s an NPC right next to the upgrade guy who downgrades crests for you.
Also there is some vendor in mole people village where you can buy a crest for some currencies that drop of treasures and rares imce a week. Id elaborate more but Ive paid more attention to spelling errors then the current patch.
That’s definitely a fair comment… I just thought it was very odd that what items drop for you, in order to UPGRADE it, you have to run LESSER to get more out of it (if that makes sense).
