Fr dude 150 shadow damage is what i have at lvl 32.
I understand and you are right that I am firmly in the #nochanges camp, but I was hoping the community had learned from its mistakes in the past. After all, we have all played this game and mastered every aspect of it over the last 15 years, AMIRIGHT?
I am fine with my decision, just disappointed in the community. I am not fine nor do I trust Blizzard to make smart changes. They ruined Vanilla WoW with all of their changes by employees who needed to justify their jobs.
what made the experience good was that every zone counted, money was hard to come by, there was no LFG tool so communities can be form, and leveling took time.
Simply fixing the classes would had brought back the essence of what made vanilla great while giving a new experience rather than trying to relive what happened over 15 years ago. It was the community and the hardship that made the game experience good, not just the classes because almost every patch had class changes in vanilla; simply because the classes were never completed.
They could had merge some of the tbc specs into the game change it for lvl 60 max by removing some stuff thats only for 70, and removing the debuff cap. People will still get the same experience of a old style mmo while having specs that are optimal.
tip buy boes with shadow damage get 300+ then say u have it, problem solved.
why would you expect anything different? its even worst now that info of metas have been floating around the net for over 15 years. I saw this coming for a mile away, something that shouldnt even be hard to see; especially with how bad the internet community has become since the early 2000’s, which is why i wont touch any hybrid but a warrior.
Are you trolling or stupid?
Fury is the best dps spec in the game rofl
This is crazy… I never leave group until every person has gotten all the drops they need. To do anything else is rude and selfish.
Idk i havnt really had a problem joining dungeon groups or a raid now and then. Im not super geared either. Not many people actually care im a spriest. Locks unless wanting all gear for themselves usually invite me and healers usually like that im healing about as much as them.
Look at this maroon… He had to post it twice to make some odd point that it’s possible to have that much +Shadow dmg at his level… lol. Please list your gear that equals +150 Shadow Damage at lvl 32. Then list your Stamina/Spirit/Int, because I can guarantee you that your other stats are suffering if you have that much Shadow Dmg at your level. Priests do not have lifetap lol.
And I’m the troll? Thanks for the laugh!
Lots of classes have helpful utility, most of what you can offer as a SPriest is also offered by a healing Priest. Also, in my experiences, when making a group and asking for a DPS, you get several messages rather quickly, from classes/specs that do follow the “meta”. So when all you have to base your choice on is Mage vs. Lock vs. Warrior vs. SPriest, it will be quite common to choose something other than the SPriest.
15 years of vanilla/pservers shows that the niche specs like yours, are not treated the same way as standard dps. If this is new information for you, I am sorry. But choosing a Mage over a SPriests for a DPS spot in a vanilla dungeon. Has been common practice since WoW’s inception.
shadow wrath head peice +20, shadow wrath shoulders +16, Shadow wrath robes+19, shadow wrath cloak +9, shadow wrath Bracers+12, Witching staff +11, Shadow wrath gloves+ 16, shadow wrath belt +8, Shadow wrath leg +19, shadow wrath boots +14 = 144 shadow damage. 17 stamm 12 int and 8 spirit from rings and neck, +7 int from weapon.
I played with my first shadow priest just past night, in LBRS and Undead Strat. She kept up just fine with both myself and the hunter in the group. As a mage I can of course destroy anyone on an AoE pull, but she still didn’t seem much lower than any other dps. Single target she even beat me a few times.
I’ve heard shadows go OOM super fast. She went OOM a little slower than I did as a frost mage… though I can evocate, eat my rock, eat my orb off hand, and hopefully one day nibble on my robes for extra mana.
I don’t know how they hold up in MC. With short fights though, I don’t really see a reason to disallow shadows beyond a single one. Perhaps it has something to do with the debuff limit?
All told, shadow didn’t seem nearly as bad as I’d been led to believe. It’s a lot better off than ret, that’s for sure.

I suggest you take a few minutes to look this over before you continue to embarrass yourself.
spreists are awesome for dungeons, what the hell are they smoking?
Passive heal support from vamp embrace, good single target damage, and most importantly, easy mode in any dungeons with Humanoids (all of them) via mind control. MC a target, they tank ALL the hits from mob packs and your crew can just wale on the distracted mobs 1 by 1. It seriously makes LBRS a joke.
It’s a little more complicated than that. Spriests aren’t limited to one because the second and third provide nothing new. By design, the second and third can actually start to make things worse for the raid as a whole. 2 of 3 spriest dps spells take up individual debuff slots on a boss. When you get 3 spriests in a raid, other classes actually start to suffer. It’s unfortunate and I don’t like it, but it’s the current patch we live in.
Bingo! Shadow Word Pain and Mindflay both take up a debuff slot. So when you factor in lower than average DPS, in combination with requiring 2 debuff slots per Shadow Priest, it makes bringing more than 1 quite unattractive for raiding.
I dont get it either really. Spriests do so much passive healing, that when I’m healing a run as Resto, I feel useless outside of boss fights or bad pulls. When we are playing ‘correctly’ I may as well throw lighting bolts at things for all the healing I am ‘needed’ for.
People dont like Spriests, because people are bad at the game, and need the crutch that some other classes provide.
Its really as simple as that.
a “loot drop simulator” sounds exactly like my type of fun.
What is “fun” to you doesn’t necessarily apply to others and vice versa.
People don’t like Shadow Priests, because most of their utility in dungeons can be done by a healing Priest, on top of the inferior DPS. Also most groups are not killing mobs 1 at a time, and SPriest has no AoE (other than multi dotting).
So when are you making a group and all you have to decide on who comes is the class/spec. There are simply better options.
Now I am not suggesting waiting around for a Mage to join, but normally when you are making a group, there is no short supply of “meta” DPS.
Also I find it funny you call other classes utility a crutch, when you talk about how much healing a SPriest does, that as a healer you barely need to heal…
pot meet kettle.
