I was in a ZF group last week, had one weird setup…1 War tank, 2 Feral cats, 1 druid healer and a oomkin. We finished that dunegon without a wipe and had no trouble. It was hella fun.
When you have 30 DPS reply to “Scholo need 1 more DPS”… why bring a Shadow Priest when you can bring 1 of the 12 Mages that asked for a spot?
If you choose to play a niche spec, you have to accept the consequences of that choice.
Damn, I really want to see an oomkin, never had one in my groups…
I might do that if I level another Druid.
I do accept the consequences of my choice. I adapt. There are TONS of groups wanting people. lol, no problem for me.
Shadow is a PvP spec, not a raiding spec. If you intend to run dungeons, you should be prepared to heal (and have a healing set to do it).
Shadow is bad DPS that has to drink every single fight, you slow the group down considerably and provide lackluster DPS while you do it.
I get that SOOOO many times. I stick around until they get their drops too cause not only am i still soaking XP, im still getting some coppers or silvers and trash to vendor during the grind to help.
You misunderstand. I don’t mean balancing but people want certain comps for easy mode.
I was a Shadow Priest in Vanilla. It was tough.
OHHH! My bad! I gotchu.
Yeah kinda glad why I’m tanking I don’t need to see DPS meters >.>
IMO shadow spec priest is mostly a spec for leveling and PVP. That is where your build will shine the best
And this is why Classic will fail. Elitism at it’s worst.
Do you just ignore the utility that the spec offers in 5-mans? Sure, we can’t DPS non-stop like some other classes but does that really make or break the ability to complete the run? Like I said, don’t tell me how easy classic WoW is if you require an optimal group comp to be successful at running 5-mans.
Yep, alot of classes back then were scapegoated into a role. There were no enhance shamans, not shadow priests, no Assassination rogues, no elemental shamans, no Bears, no boomkins, no arcane mages. But yet people are pro-classic…
Because meta, thats why.
And overall the pve community is fairly toxic. Spriest is a pvp spec. It ooms very easily in pve as well as pvp.
But don’t let that stop you all these people will tell you “Hurrrr raids are easy lvl 50s in white gear are doing them, ofc u can raid spriest”…
Except 90% of the people saying this aren’t looking for groups as a shadow priest, feral or enhancement shaman.
Its not needed utility, its superfluous. No, I don’t need “optimal” people to do runs, but I also don’t PuG, I run strictly with guild mates or I don’t do it at all.
Personally, I wouldn’t care, as long as the group is successful in its run, you can do or not do whatever you want, however, I don’t speak for everyone and people excluding you because they’d rather have a Priest HEAL for them instead of stealing warlock gear is simply something you’re going to have to accept as reality.
Just as a DPS (and a hunter at that) I expect that if I wanted to PuG it would take me 3+ hours to find a group…hence why I don’t PuG.
We tried to push for changes to make it so all specs are optimal enough so this sht doesnt repeat itself but people like you thought things were all nice because of this and that story so the no change group won and this sht is just happening all over again. I went through the same sht as a pally in vanilla, thats why i roll a warrior this time around; not ganna do that sht again.
which is why some of us try to push to change it, to make it into what it should had been and not just some museum but there are too many ignorant people currently playing wow that they thought all the stories of vanilla means all the classes are finish. When in reality most of the classes are not even finish until tbc, when all 3 specs for each class are close enough to being optimal. Sadly we lost to the no change group and history simply repeat itself. I wont play any hybrid class except for warrior, yes warrior is a hybrid they can tank(best tank) and the best dps with naxx gears.
No CC required! Very few situation where CC is needed. I’ve been running all the 60 level content for 4 weeks now(That includes 4 full MC clears.) I take Shadow Priest all the time when I tank 5-mans. I even brought 2 with me to UBRS once. Anyone refusing a shadow priest is not very good at this game. It’s amazing how people would rather spam another 15-30 minutes trying to find a warlock/mage. Life’s to short, just play the game!!! The only time I reject anyone if there is going to be heavy gear competition for one of my friends.
This what happens when you let min-maxing ideology bleed down to players that will not see any benefits of said min-maxing.
150 shadow damage is nothing, you can get that from4 pieces. you can get 400+ rn in blues and greens. Gear and spec have a lot to do with it.
Because I didn’t spend 1 second googling it before I posted here. How about you provide me some links to actual combat logs from Vanilla showing this. Otherwise, it’s pure hearsay…
Well if you change it, it wouldnt be Classic. And I think thats why, I, loved TBC the most, TBC still had flaws but it was minimal compared to other patches.
