Confused by 7th Legionnaire set

So on cloth and leather, if u spam the arathi warfront (not the quest) u will eventually complete their respective arathi sets by collecting the random pieces you get at the end. Indeed doing so does unlock the exact mogs as shown in the set (for plate). The exact. same. ones. They look identical. That being said, i’ve noticed that getting the mogs from the warfront does NOT unlock the appearances in the set menu (for plate). Looking at my mog collection of the ones I have randomly unlocked in the set display show 2 of the exact some ones. One I got from spamming the warfront and one that actually does count to completing the set. I have no idea where I got the latter from.

Why is plate behaving differently to cloth and leather? And where can I get the mogs that actually count to the set as opposed to the exact same duplicates that don’t?

Note i’m not talking about the elite mogs you get from the 1 per cycle quest.

It is still fuzzy, but I believe you get one tier from the warfront itself and the other off mobs when your faction controls the zone. There are also the invasion and 7th Legion/Honorbound equipment caches. Not sure how they fit into the puzzle.

It occurs to me that I did nothing to help clarify anything. Sorry.

Hopefully this will help. Helped me when I was farming the 3rd tier plate set.

There’s 3 versions.

1 From the Warfront/World Boss
1 From the Rares in the zone (The one in the “Sets” tab)
1 From the Warfront Quest Cache

Some Appearances are Shared between them. Some, like cloth, have more appearances shared between than others. Plate has only like 1 shared between them.

Darkshore has less.

1 from Rares/Warfront (the one in the “Sets” tab)
1 from the Warfront Quest Cache/World Boss

The most ornate looking one comes from the quest cache, which you can only get 1 piece every warfront. Which is obviously going to take forever to complete as it’s completely RNG. I’ve done Arathi on one horde and one alliance hunter every single arathi warfront since the release and I’m still missing the helm.

One of these sets (I believe it’s the middle one, from rares) also drops from 7th Legion/Honorbound quests - including the invasion caches, which makes it fairly easy to acquire now.

That’s the same as the ones that drop from rares, yes. (AKA the one that registers in your sets)

Yeah I’ve been gunning for the more grand “lion sculpt” version of the plate shoulders from Arathi Highlands rares for a while now, AFAIK that’s the only way to get that look.

For cloth the “hood down” look headpiece (like I have mogged now) seemingly only comes from the quest reward version.

I thought it was just 2. Now I understand how my DH is missing the really cool boots from the Arathi WF.

On this link. Tier 1 comes from the Warfront.

Tier 2 comes from the Rares/World Boss/7th Legion Emissary/Incursions.

Tier 3 comes from the once-a-warfront quest cache.

I ASSUME you mean these Lion Shoulderpads:

In which case, they only come from the quest, which means you only get one chance every warfront.

Man that’s rough. Time to cap every plate-wearing alt I have I guess.

Don’t neglect the Horde ones. If you get the corresponding T3 Honorbound plate piece, it will give you the Alliance appearance too.

Don’t have many horde, only one close to being cap is a 110 shaman that I’ve avoided leveling due to the story this xpac… will keep that in mind though.

Sadly, not all Alliance and Horde pieces have counterparts.

For instance, there’s no Alliance counterpart to the Horde Darkshore Mail Tier 2 Pants. I had to get lucky and get the pants on my Nightborne Hunter from the cache.
