Confused about recrafting

I’m new to recrafting but thought I would give it a try.

I have Draconium’s Leatherworking Knife which is iLvl 326 and I have the option to recraft. However, when I select it for recrafting it actually goes down to iLvl 320. The same is true for other items I thought I could recraft to a higher iLvl.

Is there something I am not doing correctly? I’ve attached some pictures to show what I am seeing but I’m not allowed to post them apparently. If you remove the spaces below you can see the images.

Because the quality has the potential to go down when you send it away to be recrafted. Like, based on the quality of the materials as well as the skill of the crafter.

No, you are even warned it would become of less value.

That’s a generic message you will always get, regardless of the crafter. Worst-case is assumed in the UI.

Thx, I see now that I can specify a ‘minimum’ quality level and that increases it to something higher. I should have looked a little harder before posting. Thx for the guidance.

Since a recraft order is a personal order, you can specify a minimum rank requirement that they have to be able to guarantee. This sometimes causes headaches because it leads to people just always selecting Rank 5, which can cause an extra headache or two. Oftentimes, Rank 5 is a proc.

With recrafting no, you’ll have the skill later on if you are lucky to get the items to use for them.

So it looks like I can only create a personal order if I recraft and specify a minimum quality level.

What’s the best way to find a BS able to do that? Just post in the Trade channel?

Correct. You’ll want to find someone in trade chat or someone within your own guild. It may be best to ask around as well so you can get in contact with a crafter trusted by others.

That worked like a charm. Now I have a really good BS who I can reach out to for crafting orders. This is kind of fun actually.

Excellent  I enjoy it too, although I am slightly biased since I’m on the receiving end of things :stuck_out_tongue:
