On the character screen, the tooltip for Agility says it increases critical hit chance. The tooltip for Strength says it increases Attack Power.
Warriors, Paladins and feral Druids are all melee. Why is Agility recommended for DPS Druids and Strength recommended for DPS Warriors and Paladins?
Agility gives 2 points of attack power to non plate wearing physical DPS so rogues, shaman(enhancement), druids (in kitty or bear form), and hunters. Strength gives 2 points AP to Plate wearing physical DPS Warriors Paladins and DKs.
Does that clear it up a little?

Strength is for plate wearing melee classes
Agility is for leather/mail wearing melee classes
The tuned the classes so they would not need to release strength leather gear. It also allows multiple classes to use the gear. Agility leather is used (end game) by feral druids and rogues. Without druids all leather agility gear would be rogue gear.
It may sound good, but having bosses drop gear that can only be used by 1 class is a huge letdown if you don't have that class in the raid. (Cough intellect plate).

Ahhh. That makes sense now. Critical hit chance didn't seem like something you want to use as the basis for a build. They should change the tooltip.
http://www.wowpedia.org/Attributes goes into specifics about what each stat does for each class/spec.

Yeah, I didn't enter the right link.
Strength will increase attack power while out of form, but agility will increase attack power by a lot more while in Cat form or Bear form. Since the only reason you would be out of form as a feral druid is for healing, or tossing a CC like roots, cyclone or hibernate, strength becomes largely useless.

You also tend to see this reflected on gear. Other than random, oddly-itemized greens you won't really see strength on leather/mail or agility on plate. You're pigeonholed into the right stats, more or less.

I recently found a strength/agility cloth piece (yes it was one of those "of the <insert animal name here>" random drops). Surprisingly I was able to sell it on the AH for a couple of gold, I presume to someone who wanted to disenchant it for mats.

Sort of like those rare plate items from BC with STR and AGI. But yes, kitties and bears (oh, my!) want AGI first, third and second for a grand slam. Remember, one of the cherished roles of druids is taking over from hunters rolling on rogue gear.

Has strength bacame useless stat in Legion now or what is it used for now because Intellect is useless now for Paladins and I still dont know how strength works in Legion since it has been changed, can some one tell me what is used for and is it worth it thanks.

Strength is by no means useless and nor is intellect. In fact as a paladin in Retribution or Protection spec you want as much strength as you can find as it increases your attack power. If you change to Holy spec you want as much intellect as you can find as it increases your spell power.
This thread is very old. Much has changed and the information in it is very out of date. If you have a question please make a new thread so that you don't bring out of date information to light.

Not much point in making comments on a post that's 7 years old.
