In regards to your petition, with further research we can confirm that due to a bug, the rank 2 pvp essence and the materials required for rank 3 were missing for all pvp chests. Since this affected everyone equally however, customer service is not approved to provide individual assistance. We understand this is frustrating but your best bet to receive these rewards will be to meet the criteria for next week's chest.

Im presuming that meet the criteria means waste time in arena again doing something we have already done
It sure does! Thank god the arena ratings reset, right?! So if you needed only 4 more, like myself, and grinded to 1600 specifically to get 5 from your chest, you’ll have to now spend MULTIPLE weeks grinding again.
Im not happy. This is not a good resolution. This feels bad.

I’ve read your ticket about not receiving your Burgeoning Battlefield Furor for your Conflict and Strife essence from the weekly PvP chest for the week of January 21st.
Unfortunately, no players are receiving Furor from this weekly chest. It will start dropping in the chest on January 28th.

Due to how eligibility for this item is calculated, nobody will receive any Burgeoning Battlefield Furor in the first week of season 4.
I know that’s upsetting, especially because PvP is a lot of effort these days. However, that’s our Dev crew’s official stance for this particular week, so we here in Customer Service have to follow their lead. Even aside from that, since this issue affects all players for the week, it would be very unfair for us to provide only a few players a restoration, and not everyone that’s affected. So, those of us here in CS are not providing restorations of any missing Furor.
If any restoration could be done, only our Dev crew could get it done for everyone affected.
There isn’t any other information or assistance we could provide for this specifically. If you’d like restoration done, or if you want to provide any other feedback about this particular issue, please reach out to our Dev crew through the Suggestion button or a post on the WoW forums. They’ll be able to track your feedback through those channels and make any decisions or announcements in response.
What they just responded to me, Why isn’t this just being restored if its effexting everyone, they are so quick to take items away when its not supposed to happen (M+ Box items at the start of Season 2), but not when its a direct detriment to players, “nah just grind it again.”

This happened to me this week, and in my most recent ticket reply I was told that the developers are working on fixing the it and that it’s “unknown at this time if it’s possible to send a replacement Burgeoning Battlefield Furor along.”
Here’s hoping to get the a dev’s attention because this is particularly frustrating not only because I didn’t get the reward, but now it sets me behind in a new tier AND I have to regrind the proper rating to get the currency. Getting and upgrading essences are a core gameplay mechanic right now and thus this should be fixed immediately and replacement currency sent out.
If this had happened to any of the new 8.3 essences it would have been fixed right away with everyone getting replacement stuff. Realistically, I think because this is an essence that most people already have besides people coming back/gearing alts, that they frankly don’t care enough to do anything about it. It’s just really sad. I hope that they prove me wrong.

Unfortunately it looks like you have to. While the chest was still “season 3” are are now in “season 4”.
It’s total BS only way, to put it mildly. When we all know 2 patches down the road it will be handed to other toons. I’m done farming it I only needed my last week out of last box now have to farm back up. Was pretty much told the same thing. But who cares we only play this for the 20 dollar mounts right?
