At around 9:55pm - 10:00pm EST on 04/24/2025, Blizzard suffered a DDoS attack that resulted in multiple Hardcore Classic deaths. One of these deaths was on my 53 Mage, Mocosa - Alliance Doomhowl.
My death was not a result of any wrong-doing on my part or my local connection. Rather, it was a result of Blizzard disconnecting me from their server (which I have been paying a fee for - like everyone else).
Nearly 2 weeks later, and no response or comment on the matter. In the meantime, I lost 170 hours of game play due to Blizzard continuously being targeted by DDoS attacks. If Blizzard does not stand up and react to this (ie. resurrect characters that died to these disconnects), why would DDoSers stop???
I have submitted multiple tickets to Customer Service, but they all instruct me to post on the forums in order for Game Developers to read (“as they are the only ones that can resurrect characters that have died in Hardcore”).
Blizzard, please look at death logs of 04/24/2025 at 9:55pm-10:00pm EST. You will find that lots of those deaths were a result of the DDoS attack, and, based on prior official Blizzard posts, are eligible for resurrections (assuming the dead player has not transferred off the server).
This is the case with: MOCOSA (53 Mage - Alliance Doomhowl)
