Conduits, covenants and the inevitable

Blizzard, if you don’t take back your awful restrictive ideas, that impair the ability to play different content and swap specs freely, they will literally blow up in your face like a huge cluster bomb once SL starts. The outroar is going to be so bad and loud and you are going to lose so many subscriptions that it’s going to feel like a frickin 10 richter scale earthquake at your premises.

We’ve been warning you for so long and yet you still don’t listen.

The good thing is that at the end we, the players, will end up with the system that we obviously need and want. The bad thing is that the backlash is going to be unbelievable big, and you are going to be the only losers here.

This absurd and stubborn policy that you have ingrained “You don’t know what you want, we know what you want” is so unbelievable failed and wrong that any serious and successful businessman would shrink in disgust.

If you want to keep your jobs you need to realize this. Shareholders don’t care about you.

This reminds me about the Gibson disaster with Henry Juszkiewicz as the CEO. You are walking the exact same path.

(Observation): They are making a change. Might not be what you want.

As much as I don’t really like the new system… 7 switches per week is probably fine.

If SL is BFA 2.0 wow will turn into “oh that game nah I am good” I’ll play another mmo…

Will it die no, not for a long time but as far as meaningful growth it will be over if SL is BFA 2.0

yeah i know that, but the main problem still persists. That new system doesn’t change anything really. I mean maybe for the casual player… but if you are a more dedicated player that want to play different content at a somewhat competitive level it’s going to feel really bad still.

Shouldn’t 7 switches be enough? That’s enough to spec switch 2-3 time per week.

And that’s before you factor in you will eventually have three soul binds requiring switching less often.

For what is worth, i switch stuff several times a DAY. And since i want to perform at my best and push content i need to squeeze every drop of DPS in every mode or spec i play. And like me there are MANY players who do the same or at even more extreme levels.

When I start changing talents, I change more than that in a few minutes.

You have 3 soulbinds, 4 conduits per. And the conduits/soulbinds are configured per spec.

That’s… hum… 3x4x3 possible changes. But yeah, 7 per week should be fine.

This is a joke, right? Nobody’s ability to play content is going to be impaired by having the same conduit they had yesterday.

Are you one of those people who deleted your character because your first legendary drop in Legion wasn’t the one you wanted? I don’t know if you noticed, but everyone who just played with the legendaries they got could play in any kind of content they wanted to for the entire expansion. The world didn’t get invaded by demons or stabbed with a giant sword or have a hole ripped in the sky… oh wait, actually the world DID have all those things happen, but they didn’t stop people from playing and having fun. Neither did not having the exact setup some website says is the best.

Focus on learning the fights and don’t sweat the small stuff.

…says the guy who has never done a +15 or better yet a +20 or higher key. Or mythic Nzoth, or reach gladiator in PVP.

I fully get that for the casual player Systemlands is totally ok, but that has nothing to do with what i am trying to discuss here.

Oh yeah I noticed.

Our resident Demon Hunter made sure we noticed every day.

“It’s ok, it’s whatever, this is fine, I’m just going to quit this game anyway, I don’t care I’m last on DPS meters because of RNG … oh look Ursoc still didn’t drop my trinket…”

To be fair, he got a very bad luck streak all through EN on Legendaries. He finally got the ring after they nerfed it to the ground. You should have heard him then…

Just because they managed to fix legendary acquisition in 7.3 doesn’t mean it worked fine most of Legion.

People have such a short memory for Legion (which convinces me people will decide they loved BfA halfway through SL) that it astounds me. People forgave so much after 7.3.

The changes to Conduits are… mostly fine, but I’m not sure why there needs to be a limit at all.

if for example you want to dps a dungeon, then your guildmate ask you to tank the next one for him, then you get invited to push arena ranks, then later that night you got to run mythic raid and in the middle of the raid change conduits cause say the next boss requires a more defensive build you are going to have TROUBLES! big troubles.

Shadowlands is failed to the core because it contradicts and impairs the very game they’ve designed.

Just bake conduits, soulbinds, legendaries, and talents into our spec and be done.

Anything else is just busy work on an interface picking the best choices before a given task.

I’m also curious about the fact that each “new” conduit to your collection adds one energy. Does this include higher item level conduits we already own? And if not, isn’t that gonna be… really crappy?

Honestly 7 resets a week sounds fine. Most peeps won’t be changing every week. So eh

honestly any type of conduit restriction is complete nonsense, they really should just let us swap and change stuff whenever we want, if not the covenants at least the conduits. At this point what they are trying to implement with this energy cap is just stubbornness to me.

If they don’t scrap these dumb restrictions it’s going to be really bad.

Edit: to answer your question i think a higher conduit level counts as a new conduit.

Why not just remove the restrictions altogether?

Considering you have a potential of 36 conduit slots you can change for any given toon (24 for Demon Hunters, 48 for Druids)

Yeah. 7 isn’t a whole lot.
