If we keep bringing this up maybe they will remove it?
just restricting gameplay
Some vocal masochists want to keep it for lore or something silly - or the weird notion that players ought to be “punished” for wanting to play each of their specs optimally. Cheerleading for bad design.
Personally I don’t care. I’ve had the same conduits the whole tier. We’ve also had a hurdle to change azerite traits in gold, that stayed through the whole expansion, seriously doubt they change this one.
up till this point I also havent had to change conduits that much, however I started playing Ret as well as Holy pally, they both use pelagos and I would have to switch conduits everytime I wanted to play a different spec.
The idea is your supposed to feel connected to your soulbind, however that type of feeling is not something that players feel at all since its tied to power. If you tie power into something that is the only thing players will care about, sadly blizzard either doesnt understand that or knows this but simply doesnt care.
You could use different soulbinds for each spec and then you wouldn’t have to change conduits.
Sure this solution won’t work for pushing high M+s or Mythic raiding…
But if you are just doing normal content or M+15s it’s acceptable
Except if same spec, different content. Raid, M+, PvP can require different conduits.
Conduit energy is one of those things they added for no reason and completely forgot about.
Doesn’t work if you also PVP. Trying to play even two of my roles between PVE/PVP taxes the hell out of my conduit energy. I have 2 points left for the next crazy amount of hours. Another situation where I’ll be stuck in a role for a period of time, even though I may need to switch for the content I’m doing.
For me, I use my conduit energy to change between raid/M+ builds for one spec but completely different soulbinds for each spec.
Since I only have to change a couple conduits per content type, I have never ran out of energy
Not that I am against them removing it, but if you know what your schedule looks like you can plan around the system
I think it’s more along the lines of a disdain for the meta, and those that complain about a difference of <200 dps. It seems like they are making a huge deal over nothing, imo. It’s not like you can’t ever change your soulbinds or conduits, just not multiple times a day. Why is it so hard to just deal with a less optimal setup for one day, being that you chose to switch specs or conduits more frequently than intended?
You aren’t just losing out on DPS. You lose out on a very nice chunk of shield by not having frictionless coating. You lose out on Ultimate Form. Playing without those feels so terrible on this class, especially the moment you get trained or need an out from an incoming CC chain without trinketing. Genuinely feels awful on either resto and ele to not have this one tree.
This reminds me of those people in traffic that cut you off to make a right turn. Plan ahead better.
Real compelling argument there with your completely irrelevant analogy that makes no sense. Like I said, people like this ^
What exactly is someone supposed to plan here?
Haha right? I mean, I personally don’t run into this problem, but that doesn’t mean I don’t get why others are annoyed.
Everyone else is dealing with the same restrictions. Only a very few people see it as a problem.
Complain all you like, but recognize that you’re in the minority, and learn to be better in a slightly suboptimal build once in a while.
Source!
Remove an annoyance and replace it with a different annoyance.
It’s ok, there are a lot of people out there that can’t plan ahead or just choose not to because they are lazy or dumb. The analogy isn’t irrelevant, you just don’t like being in that position. Just like you would flip off the guy behind you for honking.
Oh the good ole, “I dont play my class like you do, so its not a problem” argument. Funny how the people who want to keep conduit energy always have to resort to a form of the same statement. “Just play suboptimal build and quit complaining!” How does it affect any of you, at all, if people want to play optimal builds? For some people, that IS fun.
What are you afraid of, that people will expect you to switch conduits to BiS meta options for pushing content? Don’t people ALREADY generally expect you to have the most optimal setups and BiS soulbinds conduits for pushing? Makes no sense.
