I’m not great, I would get some portals now and again and usually stop around level 20. In this system there is no where to go. You are pushing all groups of people into content that a lot dont belong in and even and there are no easy keys for alts. I dont know why they think all m+ needs to be hard.
I mean given the games director (Ion) used to be the guild leader for one of most notorious guilds in the game (Elitist Jerks) it should come as no surprise that the game isn’t very friendly towards non elitist players, despite Blizzard trying to say it is
Theres litterally keys 2-5 which dont doo much of anything.
Its basically the same thing, key lvl is basically just 2x what it used to be, soo its really not much of a difference still at lower keys.
Endgame for casuals is heroic dungeons under this new system. I did all of the dungeons on m0 and I’m not the best player but not the worst either and thought they were overtuned but I did have some fun. Although I do miss the old system this is what we’re left with.
My alts struggle to get into +2’s at 580+, which iirc is the gear cap for heroics.
Unless you’re doing delve spams for gear (not viable since it’s not solo content anymore) or running your own 2-5 range keys, you’re not going to get into groups.
non-elite’ players.
I didn’t heard this since shadowlands… Unfortunately the Ion mentality seems to be back. They should pull the ripcord and make it easier before it’s too late
yup this scaling is a freaking joke atm , if the intention is for more people outside the hardcore to do more mythics this didnt help it made it a lot worse.
Can also make ya own group for 2s. Thats what i always do when starting.
This change isnt great. Prior to this you could immediately start pugging low keys and progress as a fresh max level. Now nobody is going to take a fresh 80 to a key. Lets face it, nobody want to waste time in heroic and m0.
Agreed.
I was in guilds where a lot of people were stuck in M2-M9 keys. Now that M2 key = M12 key, there are people who are in M+ that should have never been there to begin with.
This content has made me aware of two things:
-
I can no longer play with OCE players, because the margin for keeping people alive is too thin to have 2-300 ping. In previous expansions this did not affect me because the content was more forgiving, so I could join groups with OCE players and it was fine (I’ll also be getting a new PC on Cyber Monday, so perhaps this issue will fix itself).
-
I think the level squish was a great idea, but under how healing/tuning felt in DF. In previous expansions stuff like groups not getting the hook mechanic on the 3rd boss of Necrotic Wake right and missing a few wasn’t the end of the world, but I no longer have the mana to sustain mechanic failure because I’m bombing huge casted heals on a tank which is sponging my mana pool up more than it usually would.
I’ve gone from effortlessly farming whatever content I felt like doing very early in the season (for years), to getting told to ‘go back to Delves’ by Australian Ret Paladins who have a lifetime content high of keystone conqueror that die in swirls and blame me for it. lol Soooo I can’t say this iteration of M+ feels the greatest, but to be fair I’ve also only attempted two dungeons since Delves are free and give me Hero gear. But if I were to decide that I want to actually do keys, I would feel it necessary to only run my own keys and vet people who are joining, and it’s stupid to feel like I need to boycott a percentage of the players from doing beginner content.
But if people who love keys are happy with them, it’s whatever to me, I have plenty of other content to do.
I think telling people that used to do lower keys on alts and stuff that the endgame for them now is delves and heroic dungeons is a bit crazy.
Other people enjoyed doing keys other than the top players. Totally bad move imo
Yes, it was a total mistake. You go from faceroll heroics straight into m10s basically.
There is zero sense of progression of difficulty, it just jumps and the PUG experience is cancerous right now.
Old m10 which was faceroll to begin with.
And yet tons of casual players never even got there. Throwing those players into m10 with the most unavoidable damage I’ve seen in an xpack so far is not a great move to encourage more people to do M+.
Are you reallly saying this is the most unavoidable dmg, reallly dude.
Anyway m0 has no timer and you can easily overgear the difficulty. At somepoint ye gotta realize there isnt going to be something for everyone if ye cant doo m0.
I could litterally solo m0 on my healer, wouldnt be enjoyable but i could.
If people cant do that in a 5 man group then maybe they shouldnt bee doing dungeons.
Why would you overgear the difficulty to get ilvl rewards lower than the gear you are wearing? That makes no sense. The difficulty should be matched to the reward, and right now it’s not which is why everyone is praising Delves so much.
Mythic 0 100% does match the loot, it just dis3nt for the people that dont know how to play the game.
Seriously if people are finding m0 then dungeons just arent for ya.
So, take away content they had access to for years just to not really make much of a difference for anyone else?
All the condensed key levels really did was exclude all the +2-10 players and saved the +11-20 players a few hours of time per season pushing lower keys up.
You might not know this, just assuming from the way that you talk you are a prime ELITE gamer, but when even before the key level changes people would fail +2-10 keys.
I had +20s done on healer in DF and would sometimes go pug a single digit key and fail it, and even if not failed it was harder to heal than the 20s I was doing.
Your skill level might just be too high, playing with other people who are just too good, and it has blinded you to the horrible way content difficulty scales as group skill level drops.
