Conclave raids - A WoW End Game Thought Experiment

With the constant debates on retail end game and how poorly its been doing in TWW s1 I have been brainstorming ideas that would make end game more engaging. My last post I made was on implementing the Runic system from WOTLKC into delves at max tier to up the difficulty so higher crest aquisition alternatives could exist.

In this post I will talk more about what Im deeming at “Conclave Raids”.
The inspiration for this post came from WoW itself and how over the years the concept of “Mini raids” has kind of died out where things like Onyxias lair, Gruuls Lair, Obsidian Sanctum, Terrace of Endless Springs, etc used to be common place they just no longer exist.

Goals for Conclave Raids.
Mid-tier catch up.
Max level crest aquisition alternative.
Daily lockouts.
Standard scalable difficulty. (LFR/NORMAL/HEROIC)
No Mythic mode to maintain seperation from full-tier raid difficulty.

Raid Sizes and Formats:
1-4 bosses per mini-raid.
Bosses should follow design philosophy of normal raids, first boss being mechanically simple, while last boss fits a final wing tier difficulty.
Flex raiding 10-25 players.

Raids could be easily put together to fit the theme or lore of whatever current expac they are in.

Progression & Rewards:

Gear-
2 sets mid tier catch up.
Bringing back 2 sets with Undermine could continue into the future as a catch up mechanic similiar to Forbidden and Siren rings.
Raid difficulties would reward crests equal to 1 tier above the difficulty completed. Normal will drop runed, while heroic drops gilded. 12 per boss, 15 for final boss.

As I said earlier with daily lock outs, this would make Conclave Raids a viable daily option for character progression and an alternative to Mythic+.

Conclave Raiding would also count towards your weekly vault.

Solo Queue
Queueing for content available for all difficulties besides heroic which will require premade group finder.

Cosmetic Rewards and Challenge Modes.

Cosmetic Rewards
Unique transmog sets, mounts, and pets themed around the mini-raids.
Cosmetic-only weapons or effects tied to specific bosses.

Final Boss Challenge Modes for Class Specific T Mog to encourage farming.
Challenge mode available on both normal and heroic, with heroic having a more encouraged color design.
Would have to agree as a team to HM final boss than activate HM in game like times past or similiar to how the M+ key inserting thingy works.

I agree blizzard should nerf BM hunters immediately

Yeah if they released twice as many raids without having to sacrifice quality anywhere that’d be nice, but it’s not realistic to expect them to suddenly double-up on content output.

I think a mini raid would be about as easy to put together as a new dungeon tbh. We arent talking about full wings, we are talking about something WoW was already known for when it had a ton of players.

TBCC 2 is gonna be amazing.

After BRD I’m not sure mid patch content is that much worth to do, it simply has failed too many times. With gear nowadays being as plenty I’m not sure there’s need for even more catchup. I’m someone that like raiding and I think it might be better to spend more time doing more dungeons if we want more content as dungeons will have an extended life through m+.

Entire purpose of this is to build alternative pathways for the anti M+ crowd without purposely damaging M+ for people who enjoy it

An even easier one would be to simply to buff raid loot to .3 per player rather than .2 and have a tier sets be an extra .1 per player. For 20m this would mean going from 4 pieces to 6 pieces +2 tier.

Crests also should be doubled in raids.

I agree with those takes 100% my previous post on this discourse was exactly that pertaining to heroic final wing token aquisition and delve t11 reworks.
