So, I didn’t realize it until I was just looking over the Earthen class availability. But Blizz seems to be accepting that not EVERY race should be allowed to be a Death Knight. As they’ve stuck to their guns with Demon Hunter race restrictions. Dracthyr and Earthen not being able to be makes sense lore wise, they would have never had interaction with Arthus or Ner’Zhul. I suppose they could have contrived a storyline to allow Earthen but I’m glad they didn’t. Because, I hold that no allied races should be able to go DK.
I understand that they retroactively explained that all of these races Ahmad access to Azeroth and thus were theoretically corruptable by Arthus. But, I’ve always felt that this was a stretch. Just an easy way to allow players to play DK on more races. Which… Why?
Demon Hunters, the other Hero class, are still heavily restricted because of what a Hero Class should entail. I know they won’t go back and make allied races unavailable to DK’s it would make a lot of people mad. But, I’m just saying, I’m glad Blizz is taking their lore a bit more seriously because it doesn’t make sense that Arthus was able to retroactively corrupt Draenai or Vulpera or Mag’Har (though I suppose these could be justified through Ner’Zhul).
Let’s keep our Hero Classes restricted to legit lore relevant options is all I’m saying
