Concerned with current server lag

I beleive Blizzard implimented layering in 9.0, correct me if i am wrong.

The game as of right now is near unplayable in icecrown, the server lag is making spells and actions have significant delays. So…

I feel with the drastic server lag happening in the lead up for release i feel more work must be done to correct server lag as this will only multiply on release day… I hope the Blizzard team is working on addressing the issue come release day. as i feel if nothing is done, it will be a disasterous launch.

Layering does not exist in retail, that is a classic only system. Retail has Sharding and CRZ (Cross Realm Zoning).

CRZ was added in 2012 with the launch of MoP, and Sharding was introduced in 2014 with WoD. Both have been consistently used since.

Neither will help with launch day lag as the entire game’s population will be filtered into the same zone. Just relax and enjoy it. Bugs, lag, and all. It’s part of the experience and wouldn’t be a wow expansion launch without them :wink:
