Concern About Mythic+ Leavers and Group Penalties

I’ve just started stepping into +10s and encountered a frustrating situation.

In my second 10, I was tanking on a Prot Warrior. We had a Demonology Warlock whose DPS was below mine, so I asked (politely) “what is the DPS, lock?” — nothing more. The player instantly left the dungeon.

Following the leaver guidelines, I waited one minute before exiting myself.

My question is to game devs : how is this loophole being addressed? Players can effectively abandon runs without consequence, while the rest of the group suffers ?. Is there any update on how this system is being improved to ensure fairness for everyone?

They do get a punishment, a small mark next to their character that said they left and must complete a key for the mark to go away.

There’s no loophole. There’s nothing that can ultimately be done to literally stop a player from ending their participation in a dungeon. The abandon system is doing the most that can realistically be done by showing the general public who these players are.

There’s always going to be people that alt f4 or plug pull their router or just leave without care about potentially accumulating enough attention to warrant a leaver mark. This isn’t a truth that’s unique to WoW.

We have seen previously that Blizzard has taken the initiative to suspend egregious leavers/griefers, though I’d image these are extraordinary cases.

There’s nothing else they can do. Do you want them to be banned?! You have commented in other threads about this and it’s the same answer it’s no a exploit, people will leave if they want

The solution is to have a WoW gaming team that can create an effective mythic + key system.

At a minimum, the originator of the key should get an opportunity to redo the key (similar to actual raid/dungeon mechanics) up to some representative level that they had previously not completed.

If the originator of the key can complete a +1 time with a later group, but got screwed over by the original group. Does that mean they do not deserve it? What are the prosand cons? That people with predefined groups that are known and work well can push further with less risk? That people who are new to mythic plus have to say a prayer?

These developers are biased and trash at what they do. They hired a bunch of bad players who played in guilds to make raid decisions, and a bunch of randoms who focused to much on bad story that isn’t epic or fun.

and what benefit is that when they can just reque ?

seems like punishment’s needs to be turned up a notch.

So if one cannot be held down to finish the dungeon why do we even have this broken system that players are just finding loop holes to abuse ?

So why exactly is this system here ? is this a place holder ?

Luuba, you liked my replies where I made it clear that blizzard is going to interate account wide actions into it.

Why make threads on this topic constantly, guys? Stick to one dang thread.

Ofcourse they are going to reiterate it but what about the players who are finding these loop holes & when do we get an update on how the new system is working ?

This is the system you guys asked for. They cannot and will not hold people into a group they don’t want to be in anymore

It’s not a loophole the system is working as intended

If you invite the same person once again after having a bad experience with them, that’s your own fault.

for sure - i set them on ignore.

But what benefit is it when they can just reque - why not ban them for a season ?

Because no one should be forced to carry you

How can they, when they are doing less dps than the tank.

I should have left. But stayed and actually checked on them.

what do you want them to do, staple your party to their chairs so they’re literally forced to continue playing with you?

This. There is no catch-all solution to people leaving dungeons, because it’s not a problem with a singular cause.

For starter they can give us an update on how the system is being received and what would they do with this loop hole of alt f4 exploit.

Are they going to allow this and let players continue to exploit ?

This oddly reminds me of the Greek Architect Bofadees

You know this doesn’t happen in solo content. That’s the benefit to going into delves and getting good gear is that you don’t have to deal with other people in a group you can simply go enjoy yourself and other content and not have to experience stuff like a lever penalty. Solo is definitely where it’s at. Also being able to leave anytime you like is a huge bonus.
