Hello,
There has been requests to make SV dual wield multiple times on the forms, and i think i have a concept to do so!
Fury of the Eagle becomes a Choice Node, with another ability called “Rezzar’s Fury”
Rexxar’s Fury
- Allows the Hunter to dual weld 1h axes (Yes 1h Axes only)
- When used, quickly attack the target dealing X amount of damage (I have faith the devs would balance this to be the same-ish as Eagle)
The node bellow it should also change to make sense with Fury of the Eagle and Rexxar’s Fury
This would add some much needed SV fantasy and keep inline with 2h
Thanks!
Rahis.
- Why would we want to increase our loot pool to include one-handed axes? We can’t even set a different loot-spec like warrior if we don’t want one-handers.
- Limiting it to just one-handed axes is silly if the only reason is “because that’s what Rexxar uses.” If you wanna RP Rexxar download some addons or something. Survival hunters can use swords, granted there are no 2-handed agility swords in the game, but still.
- Rexxar may be THE survival hunter, and featured on most survival hunter artwork, but he doesn’t play anything like a survival hunter and is more like a melee BM hunter than anything. In fact in Warcraft 3 his hero archetype is literally named Beastmaster. Current Survival is based off of the in-game lore around Huln Highmountain, focusing on the use of a spear.
- If anything it should be added in as a cosmetic option. As many of these posts, as well as similar ones for other classes and specs, have pointed out in the past: blizzard has the ability to let us transmog 2-handers to appear as two one-handers or vice versa, as is evidenced by the legion weapons. Just let us do that.
The one thing I do agree with though is that Survival should have a few talents referencing Rexxar.
Just to spitball a few ideas:
Misha’s Hunger: (Refers to Rexxar’s constant companion, the bear, Misha) X% chance on melee strike to heal for 10% of your health. Should be combined with Spear Focus so that talent isn’t so bland anymore, and it adds much needed survivability.
Ready to Track: The first enemy, above 90% health, that you hit with Raptor Strike/Mongoose Bite every minute, automatically has Hunter’s Mark applied to them.
Way of the Mok’Nathal: A stacking buff, up to five, on a choice node with Mongoose Bite that gives you increased attack power per stack. Like MB, additional stacks don’t refresh it. It should be tuned to be a better choice in AOE but not in single target. This was actually a legion talent.
By Fang and Claw!: A 5/10% increase to your pet’s critical strike chance, combined with Sharp Edges (which is the talent that gives a 2/4% increase to crit damage) to provide more power to that talent.
Rexxar’s Focus: For each stack of Bloodseeker, up to 5, you gain 2% haste. Should replace Ferocity (the 10% increased pet dmg talent).
