Concentration

This is an issue. Crafters are creating multiple toons and using conc to craft item at a lower cost then you should be able to. If your goal is to allow ma and pa crafter to make some gold ok, but if your goal is to create an end game for crafters its failed.

A streamer i like to watch has a about 30 alchemist alts who use conc to craft goods. This is terrible design.

I have used the AH to make gold since Wrath and i don’t think its been this bad. There are areas you can still craft to make gold, ie things with petrified root as the cost is tied to that not to conc but its bad out there unless you have a lot of toons

Yes, this is the thing with concentration, having many alts.
What is stopping you to do the same?

There’s no indication from Blizzard that they take into account the auction house economy when implementing changes to the crafting system. Consider a recent example: the recipe to turn 18 rank 1 Duskshrouded Stone into a single rank 2 stone. Since both ranks of Duskshrouded Stone has been roughly the same price on the AH for most of the expansion; this is a silly recipe. But if you’re trying to help a JC who doesn’t have access to the auction house, the recipe might make sense.

So, no, the apparent goal of concentration was to help early crafters make recipes they haven’t mastered but are close enough that a bump in skill gets them to the level they need. Later in the game concentration helps a crafter that didn’t specialize in the area for a craft to still get higher rank results. Neither of these scenarios are contingent on how much money a crafter makes from the process.

Concentration is a form of variable cd. Cds in crafting are defeated by alts. Has been since the beginning of the game. Would it help if I told you I had 5 alchemists all the way back in MoP? Now I have 7. Same reason. Same dance. Nothing to see here.

Nah. Duskshrouded stone is just underpriced because they lowered the glass drop rate and now there’s too much stone to match with glass to make vials. Also because you have herp-a-derp streamers with 30 alts making 1 vial each. Lol. R2 stone is actually pretty valuable in my book. But I’m happy to hoover up cheap stuff.

I just read Bonaventure’s response and was going to say roughly the same thing.

My JC uses the conversion for both glass and stone. For me, the AH price is irrelevant b/c I make vials on my one and only JC for use by my one and only alchemist.

I am so sick of people asking for the game to be designed around goblin gold hoarding on the AH. The conversion addition for stone and glass are marvelous QoL improvement for the normal Jewelcrafter player.

Oh I agree with you that the new conversations are great. There are plenty of people who don’t like playing the AH and play crafters to be self-sufficient.

Er. But that was not what I meant lol. I like R2 duskshrouded stone because it is very heavily weighted. Super insanely weighted.

So you know that not all mats are equal, right? If you add an R2 tranquility bloom to a flask recipe it barely adds skill, but R2 vials, those give tons of skill points. It’s because the more processes a reagent goes through, the more weight it gains in the recipe. And it also gains weight depending on the mats which make it. Well duskshrouded stone is worth more than twice as much as glass in terms of weight.

So you can add that to a recipe and add almost an entire skill bar worth of skill while not changing the cost of the mats. Yeah. It’s that OP.

So. Uh. Sorry I guess. I was giving my goblin opinion. :stuck_out_tongue:

Of all the goblins out there, Teishoku, you’re my absolute favorite. I truly appreciate when you add something to these conversations because it is always accurate, always useful, and always enlightening.

(I also love fudging concentration with the rank 2 stone. I’ve made a lot of gold - by my own standard - with rank one mats alongside a golden stone)
