Why hasn’t this been made into a buff for Prot paladins. Everything it does can be the same still but just radiates from the paladin. There a reason for Prot that this isn’t just mobile thing? This could be a talent choice 100% to make it actually on the paladin instead of the ground.
Do you mean Consecration? It’s because you consecrate the ground beneath you. With the talent change to give you 4 seconds outside of the ground effect this isn’t a problem anymore for mobility mechanics.
Consecration doesn’t move for two reasons. The first is that it consecrates the ground you tank on. The second is that it has a short cooldown with a decently long duration, so using it after moving isn’t a problem (especially with the Sanctuary talent).
A better question would be why Consecration still hasn’t been visually updated. Improve the Piss Earthquake, I say!
Because when they did update it, some number of expansions ago, some people pissed all over it saying the old one look way better.
And then they gave up
They gave the update visual to new Paladin NPC though.
What would be revolutionary is if they brought back the glyph from MoP that made your consecrate follow you like an aura. That was hands down the best version of that spell ever.
I am pretty sure some Lightsmith talent causes the spell animation to briefly pulse under your feet. Or something that looks very similar to the stained glass consecration. But i haven’t payed enough attention to notice what causes it.
I loved the visual update years back. Shame it was abandoned.
