Computer or Monitor?

Heya there all! Been racking my mind as of late on what to do and was following the steps.
My picture on my monitor since built seems hazy, fuzzy, wording/picture comes and goes, I just lived with it but now I can’t anymore so first step get new cables, then monitor, then start piece by piece inside the computer.

But the day after I order them I start a youtube video and from the top of my monitor 1/4th of the way down I saw that uneventful artifact of blue, red, green, purple glitched patches. It cleared itself up, but the fact that it’s there causes concern.

I believe i can only finance one thing at the moment. A brand new computer

or New Monitor
LG 34GP83A-B 34 Inch 21: 9 Ultragear Curved QHD (3440 x 1440) 1ms Nano IPS Gaming Monitor with 144Hz

Current Specs
Monitor - Asus VG279
CPU - I7-9700K @ 3.60
GPU - MSI Gaming GeForce RTX 2080 8GB GDRR6 256-bit VR Ready Graphics Card (RTX 2080 GAMING X TRIO)
Ram - G.SKILL 16GB (2 x 8GB) Ripjaws V Series DDR4 PC4-25600 3200MHz

I feel like I should have a beast but this was my first build and feel as if there are multiple mistakes (cable management is a huge one) I’d rather start clean rather than ordering multiple parts and mucking those up too now i’m in debt with 2 steps backwards.

Many Thanks to all who stop by

TL;DR- Monitor Issues, could be GPU and CPU as well, origin unknown. Finance computer first and wait on monitor. Or continue with the steps and try a new monitor + new cables could be bottle necked?

what do you currently have (computer specs) and why is an ultra wide a must

Yea if you can test it on another monitor that would help rule out that.

Older/newer drivers maybe? Maybe the card is bad.

IMO just reformat windows fresh install with newest drivers. Wouldn’t put it past an OEM to screw up the software aspect.

It’s free, except for time, and likely would improve your performance by removing bloatware either way.

You got nothing to lose.

I have a laptop that with the OEM image was always at 40% CPU usage on a 4/4 chip. No matter how long I let it idle and finish updates, it always ran high. Even ending all the tasks that seemed likely to be causing issues, it still stuck at high usage.

Formatted it, fresh clean install on a newest image from Microsoft, and it idles at 3-4% usage now.

By Joe I think you have done it my man. I’ll still keeping close watch on it for…science of course. But before I did that reset all my mobs looked like were incomplete 3d figures always something blurred/fuzzy. In addition to wording always feeling like i was drunk trying to read. Making me not want to be around my computer. Now it’s clear my mobs stay 3d from start to finish and i’m able to game more again! Thank you for the advice!!

Just hopoe my baby don’t go up in flames xD
