Good afternoon, I’m hoping someone here may be of help.
My computer randomly crashes while I am playing various games and I’m running out of ideas why this could be. What makes this issue stranger is that I had the SAME issue happing on the system I had before this one! It would shut off at random while playing games. And when I say shut off I mean, completely go black. Just off. No warning, No boot down phase, No blue screen, just “Hello Darkness my old friend.”
So to start, to get information on why this may I went into Event Viewer. And what I’ve found at the time of each shutdown is, Event 6008; “The previous system shutdown at 6:21:39 PM on 4/11/2024 was unexpected.”
…however, before that is no warnings, critical, nothing that would explain why.
I have noticed though a pattern on events that will proceed the Event 6008, they are in this order, “Even 7040, 12, 153, 18, 32, 20, 238, 25, 27, 30, 20, 16” and then…6008.
They are all listed at “Information” level and google searches pretty much say, they’re ok. But, maybe not?
I’ve made sure that my BIOS is up to date as well as all of my drivers.
I’ve actually done an entire factory reset on the device and only installed the updates and world of warcraft.
I’ve removed the 1 single piece of hardware that was in both devices (My desktop now and the laptop before) that randomly crash “The NMVe SSD”
I’ve monitored the temps to see if maybe this was an overheating issue and nothing has gotten too hot.
I’ve also disabled C-State in the bios. to prevent any unwanted undervolting.
Ill also mention I do not overlock or undervolt in any way.
I’m not sure why I could be missing obviously. Again, I think it’s odd that 2 very capable machines would be having this same issue which makes me doubt it’s a hardware issue but a software issue.
