Hey ya’ll so about 4 years ago I built my first time ever gaming pc it was right in the middle of Covid at this point in time I was given the “you need to buy something for yourself by my fiancé haha I work long long hours so with that I want to upgrade my gaming rig I only play world of Warcraft I do want to play some other games but my main game that I will always log into is wow My rig rn with the GTX 1660 Ti I was looking at the RTX 4070 I’m not a computer expert or anything but what’s the difference between the 4070 ti / 4070 super / and the 4070 ti super I don’t understand all that stuff would like some help understanding it all
The 4070 super is the “weakest” (though still a decently high end card). Then the 4070ti. Then the 4070ti super. Approximately 10% performance increase with each step.
The most noteworthy difference is that the 4070 Ti Super is actually based on the 4080, whereas the other two are not. That’s why the 4070 Ti Super has 16GB (just like the 4080), whereas the other two only have 12GB. That extra VRam can really come in handy if you are going for a 4K monitor, or for extra future-proofing. Other than that, yeah, each one is just a small performance bump.
Okay okay so if I’m going to upgrade my system I’d be better off grabbing a 4070 ti super just for future profit because I do plan on grabbing better screens rn I’m playing on a Samsung 60 hz I at least want to get a 144hz because like I said I do PvP and I want to see everything
What’s the rest of your system like?
Power supply? Case? Etc
Your CPU matters far more than your GPU for performance in this game. If you’re breaking the piggy bank, going for an AM5 platform and grabbing the 7800X3D is the best you can get. Pair it with 6000 Mhz, CL30 RAM (FWL 10 ns) for optimal performance.
DAAANG, yall got money, I got a 2060, and I barely realized it this YEAR after like four years.
No wonder my computer was huffing, puffing and blacking out with Starfield and Warhammer III every day for 3 months. XD

Download CPUZ and it’ll provide more info and in chunks that are easier to read.
Power supply you’ll have to manually look.
If you aren’t on some proprietary motherboard that has no BIOS update, a 5700x3d is the best $/perf upgrade you can get for WoW, but even then the 1660ti will be eventually be the bottleneck depending on the settings you want.
Gpu recommendations are a bit harder as you have yet to provide a psu. Your case may play a factor if it’s small.
Example if you’re using a 450w psu it’s definitely something you need to upgrade before you can do meaningful upgrade for the gpu
750 watts is my power supply
are we talking 1080p 144hz or 1440p 144hz because that will impact your GPU choice
it’s not a bad gaming CPU, your GPU is holding you back more than the CPU
make & model? 750w is meaningless if you don’t know the at what temp the PSU can deliver the power and remain under ATX spec
if I were you I would 1) figure out my monitor 2) find a GPU to power the monitor to my personal performance 3)make sure the PSU is capable to power the system 4) if I’m seeing visible FPS drops that impact the game and are downstream related, look into a CPU upgrade like the 5700X3D
Once I get home I’ll be able to really look at it I know it’s a Corsair 750 watt but like I said I won’t really really know till I get home
As others stated a drop in 5700x3d and a new GPU, my choice is a 7800XT for the price, will pretty much be night and day difference in performance
I think the lowest line corsair has that offers a 750w would be the HEC built CX750M RGB version which is ok and capable of powering the RTX 4070ti super (and obviously the less power demanding versions). Any line corsair PSU line above that would offer better performance.
Ty everyone for talking/helping but I think I have decided that I’m just gonna keep my 1660 TI I think I have way too many memories with it. I think I’m probably just gonna rebuild at some point in time. Just wait till this one dies out. I know it’s coming soon, but I don’t think I’m ready to let go news I am thinking about getting a new computer at this point in time. Any recommendations right now? I’m just using an old 60 Hz Samsung curve screen.
so are you keeping the 1660ti or looking at a new PC because you say both? Do you plan on keeping the same monitor?
Just replace your 3700X with a 5700X3D. Boom, done, massive performance increase.
For me, I upgraded from a 3900X to a 5900X, then later upgraded from that 5900X to a 5800X3D. The upgrade from the 5900X to the 5800X3D was actually the larger upgrade. Coming from a 3700X to a 5700X3D would be huge.
WoW really does LOVE that 3D cache, and the fact that you should be able to drop one into your existing motherboard is an opportunity that you should not let pass by. That 5700X3D would literally be faster than any current Intel CPU in WoW. No need to get a new computer.
Keeping the PC! Changed from 60htz monitor to 180htz ASUS tuf monitor.
With that I just set it up last night I have to mess with monitor setting don’t really know what’s the best setting for it (it’s my first gaming monitor)
monitor is one of if not the largest impact upgrade you can make. it’s the physical thing you are actually looking at. good move
Hugeeee game changer but I’m wondering if I should have gotten a 27 and not a 25 I like it regardless but I still need to put it on my computer mount
