Hello,
Having Compute Effects on causes my game to regularly freeze and then repopulate…or sometimes even crash my whole PC requiring a hard shut down. So needless to say, I can’t play with anything but Compute Effects disabled…despite being able to play the game on max settings everywhere else (I have a ASUS ROG Strix G15 with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 - nothing crazy, but should be enough for WoW!)
Is there any other way to have the rain effects show up? Or a work around to have the rain (or Compute Effects) enabled without crashing the game?
Apparently Compute Effects is a mess for a lot of people on here, but I only want the rain - sucks not having it, especially when I can see the stormy clouds and HEAR it all around me
Thank you!

Is this what it is? I’ve had this issue for a couple weeks now not sure what was doing it. I’ll try disabling Compute Effects see if it happens again.

Interesting indeed. I had a very similar issue but for me the trigger was overlay related and having some sort of buggy interaction with hardware acceleration. If this is a possible trigger for this ongoing and frankly significant problem, then you just might help narrow down a solution for people still dealing with this re-rendering issue. So far I have come upon what seems like 5 different trigger-points for the issue and likely more to follow, likely even more so once Midnight is out. Unfortunately Blizzard was and still are radio silent on these rendering and compute/dx12 issues, so it just leads to additional confusion without official feedback to round up the many things that have a chance of causing this to occur. Hopefully a “universal” fix can be found soon enough for all if it does not exist already.
