not sure why people hate torghast, but for me it was fun. beign OP and popping crazy numbers! 9/10 - (10/10 was pre nerf - it was way more fun and challenging than post nerfs)
I’m up to layer 4 myself and man is it a chore before you get some damage powers. There is a warlock in my guild that solo’d through 8 though.
It’s not fun to me because I see no reason to run it. A boring mount that just makes a crappy piece of content slightly less crappy (The Maw) is not really an incentive.
I’m just disappointed. We were told that Torghast would offer fun and cool cosmetics and whatnot. Instead we just got soul ash, a recolored mount, and some random pet.
Edit: Oh sorry almost forgot the title. Whatever it was called.
And especially after already doing all 8 layers twice on Beta, it makes it even more of a slog having to do it again.
well, i know its not mandaroty, but i did it because i thought it would be a fun challenge to do. it was a walk in the park until layer 8 floor 16-18 tho
Not every class can pull crazy numbers in torghast. That’s the problem.
Some classes have really OP anima powers. Other classes have trash. Shadow priest anima powers are ‘okay’, but we can’t do insane damage unless were really really really ultra lucky. It takes forever to clear torghast solo as shadow. We’re talking hours if you want to clear everything.
I completed it solo myself the day it came out.
I admit there were fun times in there. I had something like 80+ anima powers by the time I finished. With so many anima powers available, I ended up getting some powers that I normally would never want in a regular Torghast. This created some interesting combos and also my character was just so amazingly powerful at the end.
Even still, though the length of it helped create some fun (through so many available anima powers) it was ultimately still too long for me. I don’t know how long it took, I wasn’t keeping track, but at least for the moment I really don’t feel like doing it again.
I don’t know at this point if I will even attempt it on my alts when they get to it (they’re both beyond on the Torghast weekly quests).
I would try it but I’m so far behind on the quests it doesn’t feel worth it doing one quest a week
Some specs have it way easier than others do which I think is a bit unfair. I barely break a sweat in layer 8 while some specs can struggle to do even half that.
same goes for me. i only did like 120-140k dps on last boss. there was a warlock on my guild that pulled between 800-900k dps (demo lock) - not sure if it was true but anything is posible
It’s not 1 quest a week anymore, they removed the timegate
Because they found things they dislike . we all have different opinions on it. Not new.
How much anima powers you had at the end
Actually I think if you’re only a week behind they may have taken out waiting to save thrall. My DH is waiting to pick up the quest to find the clue for thrall. I just save Jaina today and I will look again tomorrow, but as for continuing on, no quest. And yes i have logged out and changed zones and everything besides opening a ticket or opening a bug topic.
I finished all layers.
I would have enjoyed it more if each one didn’t take an hour to two to complete.
They’re just too long to be enjoyable for me.
Congratulations on getting it done. However, there are those with lesser gear than you (as well as knowledge of class, experience, or an easy/easier class for TC) whom have yet to get past layer one. I agree that it is fun, but it is also frustrating for many of us. When was TC nerfed? I don’t see anything about a nerf to TC…
not TC nerfs. torghast overall. it was fun pre nerfs
Torghast anima power balance between classes made class balance in pve look like perfection in comparison.
There have been some huge changes since release and /or beta, but some classes do still get some whacky overpowered stuff that just scales better. Hybrids seem to do quite well, I think.
For instance, in regular torghast before the rogue buffs and venari powers, my rogue got offered mostly mawrat and a thousand bloody night fae soulshape powers. (they specifically stated they reduced the amount of soulshape powers being offered in patch notes)
My Paladin, early on, was able to go up to layer 3 at 130-140 ilvl and pull the entire floor at once. It felt like there were no bad options every time a choice popped up and I didn’t even have venari upgrades.
I haven’t had a chance to run twisting corridors yet, but I wouldn’t be surprised if some classes or specs were short changed.
Is the mob health level meant to triple on floor 13 and above (on Layer 1)?
Was on my enh shammy with a lot of powers and health but kept being overwhelmed by the mobs (+ the asssassin and ground affects). I was only pulling 2-3 at a time (non elites), but the dps wasn’t taking them down.
Also is the pet triggering the boss enrage on those bosses which say don’t move it’ll make it more powerful? Cause 3 times I didn’t move but my elemental was up so maybe that caused 1 hit death.
I tried without the pet and it didn’t seem to make a difference.
Solo’s as arms warrior as well. did it a few hours ago. no struggling at all. i find it fun using some crazy abilities and hitting some crazy dmg
only part that’s kept me away from doing it is the time investment… not that I’m saying anything needs to be changed. my time is limited so I have to know that I have enough of it before I begin. So far I’m only 3 layers in… some of these power combinations with 18 floors is freaking insane
