Just wondering why Blizzard takes such little advantage of the store as a means to make great looking transmog sets.
I understand that they like to keep making epic sets for Mythic and Heroic raiding and that’s good and all but even if you made one great set per month we’d have so many options by now.
I am the type of person that actually likes collecting great looking armor sets and as a consumer I just don’t understand why they won’t give me options to spend my money more readily.
Most games of this nature have so many purchasable cosmetic items and effects.
Other examples of missed opportunities are enchants for bows, maybe some special shoulder glows and effects or shield enchant effects. If you put some cool illusions like this that are only available in store they would pair up nicely with the ones available in game. And no, not every item ever made needs to be achievable in game for free (someone’s bound to say it).
There are so many neat ways we could spice things up that just…don’t happen. The transmog section of the store looks like walmart shelves during the great Toilet Paper shortage of 2020.
Or better idea… put the items in old raids but put a vendor inside each raid and let them drop randomly OR have the option to purchase with gold. This would still drive token sales and give people the option to outright buy stuff who don’t want to farm RNG for 30,000 hours and still let them be obtainable by those with the time and energy to farm them.

I’d rather they beef up the game with these options than the store. Personally, I’d like more in-game mogable normal looking clothes like fishing outfits, farming stuff just normal non-armor looking stuff that can be mogged

I strongly dislike anything being on the store that is cosmetics… that stuff should be from achieves in game on a subscription mmo…
Greater graphic fidelity should not be limited to paid for items as it dilutes the stuff achievable in game

How about the lack of cosmetics in Shadowlands? Every outfit they have to offer comes in four shades of THE SAME COLOR.
Less cosmetics on the cash shop, make cosmetics you can earn in game BETTER.

Because players freak out and can barely handle even a mount or a couple mog sets going into the store,
Not that we won’t get more in the future, but Blizz has always kept a very light hand on the store. Compared to other games who blow it up. So it’s a good thing there aren’t a hundred cosmetics tossed into it.
I can’t dislike this post enough.

I’ll be interested to see how this thread ages.
That said, I’d gladly pay $10 to never have to run Siege of Orgrimmar again.
I never said I disagree that they shouldn’t improve in game stuff too. But some cool store stuff hurts no one except the ego of people who refuse to buy stuff for real money.
Every consumer is allowed to have a different point of view.
One thing I will say is the in game armor sets this expansion have all looked as good as the zones… a dreary mix of neutral colors with no life or flavor to them at all.
Everything about this expansion is so dull and completely average or below average

I play guild wars and love how creative their team is and dont mind buying tmog. or mounts. I think WoW is artistically cheap and unimaginative hence the gatekeeping on recolored sets lol and lack of rewards in game.

They are major understaffed right now. I’d rather they worked on content than putting more bling in the shop.
Yes, a skip! Skips in old raids that don’t have them!
Yeah Siege, BT, & ICC immediately come to mind. Any others? How do we get a community council member to post this? Lol
Almost like if you want the good looking transmog you have to actually play the game.

I’ve dropped cash on the store before, so I’m not above it every once in a while, but we’re already paying a monthly fee for this game lol. I think the store is just fine as it is.
I really miss the dislike button.

Doesn’t even have to be great looking transmog sets, just recolor every item in game
Probably because they don’t want an angry mob showing up at their HQ.
I mean, have you seen the forums and how they react to tmog in the Blizz store? (Guessing not, which is why you made this post lol).
Limitless supply items for purchase are bad for games.
I wouldn’t mind if they added more store transmogs. Cosmetics (and not player power related items) should be the core of what is sold in the in-game shop.
That said, you’re not going to find a lot of support for this on the forums. Most of the players who complain about store mogs are idealists. They want the store abolished and want WoW to return back a subscription-only model…all the while, not realizing that model doesn’t work anymore and hasn’t been relevant for almost 10 years now.

I don’t know how I feel about this. Most of the gear I like in game comes from classic, BC, and a some Wrath. It would really disappoint me to see more town or common looking clothing as store only. Those are things that really could be vendor or profession items in my opinion.
If Blizzard did do more store transmog I would like to see items based on different IPs. So items based off of Diablo, HoTS, Overwatch, or even Hearthstone. There a lots of items that fit with WoW’s theme because WoW’s theme is very wide.
