Whats up everybody! Today I want to teach you how to kite Teremus the Devourer to Stormwind and get the loot in World of Warcraft 2020. Lots of people kite Teremus but usually it is just for fun. Did you know that it is possible to get the loot every single time Teremus dies without being in a party? Read on or check out the YouTube video guide itself : https://youtu.be/Svrt0CTDmu8
What is awesome about Teremus is his unique drop table. He drops Flawless Draenthyst Spheres which you turn into an NPC in the Blasted Lands for an Emerald Encrusted Chest. Each Emerald Encrusted Chest will contain at least 1 Blue Bind on Equip Item from level 41-53.
Don’t rely on loot tables online because these loot tables only show what some players have gotten from Teremus and Teremus isn’t farmed very often on most servers so there isnt much data. I have personally looted multiple blue boes that are not included in the loot tables I have found online for Emerald Encrusted Chests. You can essentially get any world drop that is level 41-53. Green, blue, or purple!
Kiting Teremus is very easy to do once you have some practice and a generous supply of healing potions. You’ll be using aspect of the cheetah and every 30 or 40 seconds Teremus will attack you with a breath - make sure to turn cheetah off right before this so you don’t get stunned! This will be your rotation:
- Arcane shot Rank 1 As often as possible (Always shoot it when Cooldown ends)
- Turn off Cheetah right before Teremus Soul Consumption attack lands
- Turn on Cheetah after Teremus Soul Consumption Attack
- Use healing potions when necessary. You will take 500-700 damage every 40 seconds.
In order to get loot you MUST NOT LET THE KING OF STORMWIND ATTACK TEREMUS. I repeat, DO NOT TAKE TEREMUS TO THE KEEP!
If Bolivar attacks Teremus, it is very unlikely that you will get the loot unless you are part of a group or you have done a large amount of damage to Teremus. Your goal is to involve as many players in the Trade District in Combat as possible. This way, lots of people will be on Teremus’ threat table and you will get the loot as long as one individual player doesnt do way too much damage to Teremus.
Keeping Teremus in Trade District is an almost fullproof way to get the loot because the aoe attacks will always cause the players in Trade District to kill Teremus. Sometimes other hunters or characters will steal him from you but as long as you do not die you will almost always get the loot from him when he dies. He can drop 0-3 Flawless Draenthyst Spheres. Each sphere turns into one blue boe.
Don’t bother going to the Blasted Lands and looking for Teremus. You should start by typing /who Blasted Lands and messaging 10 people there “Hey, have you seen Teremus the Devourer? He is a big dragon”.
If a few of those people say yes, then it is worth going to the Blasted Lands to look for him. Teremus the Devourer is on a 24 hr timer in Classic World of Warcraft as of 2020. This means that he will respawn 24 hours after he dies. Once you see somebody kill him then you know exactly when he will show up in the Blasted Lands.
You can technically do the whole kite to Stormwind before level 60. As long as you can survive 500-700 shadow damage every 30-45 seconds. You can use shadow protection potions to make the kite a breeze because you won’t be stunned in cheetah unless the potion runs out and you take damage. However I don’t recomend using greater shadow protection potions because they are expensive and aren’t necessary for the kite.
Once you find Teremus start the fight with an aimed shot and a multishot. You want to try to deal some damage at the beginning so that another person can’t take him from you too easily while you are kiting. You’ll see that Teremus is immune to a large amount of your abilities - no hunters mark, serpent sting, concussive shot, or scatter shot. Keep cheetah up and cast rank 1 aimed shot every Cooldown.
It is a good practice to also perform the occasional auto attack. However auto attack kiting is a bit more complicated than arcane shot kiting, so don’t worry about it if you aren’t comfortable kiting with auto attack. Arcane shot will work fine in most cases with Teremus.
Common Mistakes:
- You will die or have to restart if you get stunned while you have cheetah up and Teremus catches up to you. This happens when Teremus lands his aoe attack on you while cheetah is active. It can also happen if you accidentally aggro another monster while you are kiting Teremus. Occasionally other players will kill you as well but in general pvpers respect Teremus Kiters. If Teremus catches up to you, summon your pet and have your pet attack Teremus at least once. As soon as your pet has hurt teremus, you can feign death and Teremus will attack your pet. Attack Teremus before your pet dies and continue kiting after your pet has been sacrificed for the cause.
- If you do not attack Teremus enough he will dissapear. You must attack him frequently. I recommend that you use rank 1 arcane shot every time it is off CD (6 seconds). This means that if you miss a rotation youll still have some more time before he disappears. Make sure to attack him every 6 seconds to prevent him disappearing when you take too long or mess up.
- Don’t take Teremus to the Keep in Stormwind. Always have him die in the Trade District otherwise you will not get the loot in most cases. Don’t let NPC’s cause too much damage. Focus on getting other players into combat and having multiple other players attack Teremus so that you can ensure you get the loot.
