Competitive, Till You Leave?

I’ve seen a weird thing happen. I’ll be in an area aoe grinding. Someone will come in and start to aoe grind, being aggressive with their pulls to make sure they “get it before I do”. I say nothing, and just move to another area. A couple mins later, they’re no longer in the area. But, if I stay they seemingly never leave. Why do people stay when there’s competition, but leave sooner if there’s none?

Maybe they are trying to do a quest and butthole mages are everywhere AoE grinding which is why you see them one minute and the next you don’t? :man_shrugging:

They’re questing. They go in, get their 5 or 10 items/kills and move on.

Stop AoE gridning quest mobs.
There’s tons of mobs that aren’t used to quests everywhere AoE grind those.

Problem solved.

I’ll quote what I said, since no one read the post properly:

As an example, the worgen in Darkshire. I’ll be AoE grinding there as a horde mage (no quests) and another horde mage will appear and start AoE grinding. Nothing to do with quests.

There’s a limited number of optimal AoE grinding spots. They probably perceive it’s more time-efficient to muscle-out the competition rather than try finding a vacant spot.

But, why do they leave shortly after I leave and stay if I stay?

If they are like me they hate mages even more so then hunters and are doing it in spite.

I specifically said they were aoe farming. This means another mage. Why not stay at the camp for awhile, since it’s now uncontested? Instead of being in another zone or logged out when I /who you in 10 mins.
