Should I expect to roll need against every member in the dungeon if this drops since its sells for quite a lot on AH?
Yeah. Don’t pass on AH items unless it’s agreed upon beforehand. The tank can buy it from AH.
As a healer, I would never pass on something like that (unless the tank is a guildie) because it is much harder for me to make gold than it is for a warrior.

I respectfully disagree and wouldn’t join a group that did that to one of its members. I certainly would never tank for them on my warrior. It’s a pretty shameful amount of greed to take a class item off someone for gold.

Greed on things you are not going to use on the character you are running the dungeon with.

I wouldn’t want to group with someone who reserves expensive AH items so what difference does it make to me? I would black list you just for asking me to pass on it. Or getting mad that I rolled on it.

There’s no way in hell I’d need on that if a hunter in group needed it.

All loot for hunters, etc.
If an appropriate class really did need it though, I would greed.

We’re not even on the same server. Big talk from a mage who can AoE farm Dire Maul East btw.
The only way to make gold as a healer is loot from dungeons and professions (which are still harder as a healer since gathering is harder).

I used to solo farm the demons for the priest epic drop and sell that lol

If someone needed and I wasn’t a Warrior or Paladin, I would gladly pass because the joy of others brings me joy.

Greed rolls are for what you sell on the AH. Need rolls are for people who will use the item.
Tank warriors and paladins roll need. Everyone else rolls greed.
That being said, there’s no rule that says that has to be how it’s done. So get that blacklist ready in case people in the group are tossers.

This is one of the few items that I agree with the idea of everyone rolling need is a bad idea.

But it was a group effort to get that to / kill the mob for that drop the. everyone is entitled to roll on it, right?
Think back to your stance on locked chests and Rogues. Or is it one way for one thing and another way for other stuff?
As long as your warrior doesn’t have to compete against others and it’s “all mine all mine I won’t group with people unless it’s all mine” it’s okay.

A good analogy would be mining nodes.
Does a blacksmith have priority on mining nodes because he NEEDS them to blacksmith and other miners will merely sell the bars on AH? Of course not.
