I find it sad that comp stomp was removed and I suspect that there was no issue but it was only removed because of the free echoes it would give. You could easily have been achieving multiple thousands echoes / hour by grinding comp stomp at no difficulty.
For me, this comp stomp would have meant fully catching up on a few alt’s cloaks.
I’m a bit disappointed and I just wanted to make this thread to say it. Comp stomp was most likely removed because of the high amount of echoes it would have awarded at no difficulty.

I was looking forward to the marks more than the echoes. I ground 12 marks last weeks and without one lucky epic win that netted me 7-8 with the 5 from the quest, it was coming at so slow I was seriously not enjoying it.
At this point I don’t even see what the problem would be. You can finally afford the corruption you want, at this point would that even still matter? How many more months is 8.3 really even going to be relevant?

and I would say most people who wanted BiS corruptions on their mains have got them by now as we already had multiple vendor cycles. Most people would have just had fun catching up on alts and there’s no harm being able to do that in one go

How’d you find out it’s been removed?
Warcraftdevs tweeted that it was being removed til shadowlands. It was because people couldn’t queue for it outside of major cities and was causing issues with the PvP menu. But blizz bad so it was to stop echo farm even though they could easily just disable echoes.

Or conveniently causing that issue - sure the type of battleground seems super related to queueing issues by zone /s

That’s all I was doing it for the marks of honor. Echoes I don’t even care about anymore since corruption is disappearing, why waste my time farming something that will be gone in a month or two.

Same here. I’m not interested in the corruptions, cloak, essences, any of that as, like you said, it’s almost over.
Man this sucks. I was going to finally participate in this to get AB to exalted.
I’m glad I got it done in the last go around. Good thing too since the next comp stomp will probably be sometime in 2021.
It’s just silly they had to yank the whole thing down instead of putting a note on the launcher that you needed to be in SW or Org to queue up.
People keep saying this when I’ve farmed more echos than I can count tonight and gone up an entire honor level in a single evening off Hotmogu - which is better than anything I’ve ever done in Comp Stomp, which is a snore fest.
Hopefully it shows up next week, despite what they say. Last time the same thing happened so it could again where its up 1 day then switched.

That may have been the reason, yeah. Blizzard’s control freak squad can’t have people quickly building out fun gear sets during the dead time before a new expansion.
It’s not like the “server first race” is still a thing this late. Who cares about echoes?
I just wanted to do some stupid little timewaster against things that weren’t blasting full corruption rng at me.
