Reaching out to try and rebuild for next expansion, and recruit to our realm in the meantime…
Lets talk about what we love about ED, and how we could try to bring that back.
What we could do to improve things.
For me personally, the biggest thing I miss is WPVP, the new zone has been nice so far, but we need to keep the momentum.
Id like to try and make ED the place to be for WPVP.
Time to brainstorm on how we can.
We need competent leaders on both sides to do that though, that are willing to put aside their own sh_t to make it work.
I havent been the best at this in the past, but I’m willing to improve.
Let’s do this.
The ED Discord is no more, lets make use of these forums.

Few Ideas I have off the bat are an in game community for both factions, to be able to holler when stuff is happening.
My only issue ive had with that in the past is people use it not for that purpose, but to call each other out and argue instead… Or accuse folks of spying etc etc.
So maybe only a GM/Officer, community leader type group? But then you get accused of gatekeeping…
Its hard to do. Even with good intentions.

Im up to post frequently, and spread the word, but I would like some help… Maybe on other sections of this forum, reddit, and to use our twitter presence, Youtube vids etc.
Ideas in this direction? Lets build up our servers rep.

Blademasters still thriving! Definitely would like to see more wpvp happen more often in the zones. Ways we can make ED the epitome of WPVP is possibly bring back inclusive rp wpvp events and having guildmasters communicate with each other on both sides to make that happen. There are alot of rpers and players who are very new to pvp/scared to pvp/not geared to pvp. We should be inclusive of these people so they warm up to the idea of pvp. I’m not saying we should baby these players but to hunt down these people and spawn camp them will just make them not want to pvp as its not fun to anyone on the receiving end. Me and my high rated guildies love teaching others so if anyone has people that want to learn their class/spec/basic/advanced pvp, we are more than happy to teach horde or ally to better the server. I agree with Trikzi on the GM/Officer only community.

I love this and willing to help as much as I can.
The WPvP is what made ED so great.
I have to say that The Watch worked really well on alliance side. We just didn’t have the massive guilds that the Horde did, so banding together for WPvP antics through that community was super easy and the mods/leaders handled it well.
I think a big thing would be just sitting aside the personal egos, working with people, and seeing what works and what doesn’t. I believe there are a lot of players that miss this about ED, but not a lot that would be willing to put in the work.

Clan Battlehammer will see you all in the field every tuesday from 8pm to 10pm. We welcome the honorable fight though we miss seeing oppenents!
We’re often having to hop servers to find a good fight against horde. Though last night in Zenith Mortis was some good action on Emerald Dream! Much thanks to the Horde who put up a good fight.

Llu, yes all around my brother! You are correct about this. We all need to just get everyone hyped, hyped and hyped! Haha, it feels so so great knowing that notable hunters like yourself are finally putting in the hard work on getting this sever going again! Heck yeah my man! I’m glad we’re all talking about this and putting our issues on the table! I know we can really bring back what this realm once was. A World PvPer’s paradise!!
P.S. I really miss the ED public discord o.O, hmu with a invite asap when you start that bad boy up again! Woo woo! #sweatshop

I’m not a guild lead nor am I in a guild. Though I still support this we need to bring ED back to it’s former glory. I want Wpvp to flourish though that’s going to have to require people to put on warmode and leave it on regardless of the risk cough alliance cough. Though Wpvp events can definitely help a lot with getting people to be more engaged assuming both sides agree to keep the event honest.

I’m game to help as always. I think we had a lot of success in hosting server-wide WPVP type events in the past. There are a lot of opportunities in Zereth Mortis, even if we create a zone control situation, maybe. I heard we may be getting some bigger area-specific world quests, perhaps we could use that to our advantage to host something.
First step is for everyone to turn on War Mode. Won’t get very far without it.

Thank you for reaching out! Terran Empire is still around, of course. We’ve been taking part in more small-medium scale wpvp as of late. As long as people can truly put aside their previous differences when it comes to off-realmers joining in with wpvp I don’t think there will be an issue, and we’re always happy to get involved in some good battles

Blademaster always around and always down for WPVP. Its our favorite thing to do! Whoever/Whereever/Whenever the Blademasters are down for some friendly WPVP.

Good stuff! I am planning to come back this weekend, so going to work out what faction/guild I am landing on. Happy to do my part in bring back the wpvp action to ED! Let’s do it. We can make ED as fun as it used to be.

Think you can muster some horde for Tuesday nights? We fought a group of about 6 for a while this Tuesday.

Are we talking small scale WPvP or 40 v 40s? One of the biggest issues is the lag, people don’t enjoy that for the most part. I know there are some that do, I would too if the server could handle it.

Battlehammer having a time they are always out is good, if any others have times they and their guild is usually around looking to do wpvp, feel free to share. Might encourage some folks to come out looking for you.

I’m down to help with the server wide WPVP events, but don’t think I’ll be taking it all on like I did in the past for awhile lol. But I can definitely tell you what did and didn’t work for me if you’re interested in doing something like that yourself.

I don’t think anyone is planning on 40v40 stuff just yet… I think if that happens it should be something that occurs naturally.
To bring back up what I mentioned, as Trikzi (alt), I think we should use these forums and encourage our guildies and others to use these forums. I think the first place someone looks when they are thinking of finding a new home, is the forums, to see how active they are and this place is… dead.
Its also Public, and moderated by Blizzard… So theres no one person in charge, like a Discord would be… Its also a bit easier to keep track of than Twitter…
Having a good public image is key to getting folks to want to stay here, and move here… At the moment our general feel and message is “this place is dead, remember the good ole days?” We got to change that, or its just going to keep dying…
I will be trying to post here more often, hope you guys will too.

I’m not a community leader, but I always tried to show up and support events on either side.
There is a ton of apathy on ED, and I think it would be one of the bigger hurdles (that and in game time commitments making people choose Wpvp for fun or other things.) But this:

Is the truth. If people are getting randomly phased due to being on a different quest point in a zone, or lagging to no end, they may not come back.
But if both sides could gather 20+ for a couple friendly epic Wargames, record it, trash talk some on the forums, and have fun, and winner goes on the offensive against the losers capital city while they defend or something, maybe people seeing others having fun will prompt them to join without just sayng lets meet here at X time, and a bunch of peopel seeing a smaller turnout and just bailing at the start (like I saw with the Maldraxxus wpvp night.)
Just a thought, won’t be butthurt if people says it’s a bad idea.

I do encourage us having a discord as well as using these forums to have many avenues of inclusion and spread of information. Definitely agree on having a good public image to keeping people here and have newcomers become new EDers. Could possibly create a time sheet that shows the time schedules of each guild that wishes to participate in that? I also miss the peaceful RP events we used to have which introduced me to alot of the guilds on the other side other than “if its red its dead”. As you said you shouldnt be doing this all alone…all of us need to work together to bring back the dream.

Common theme seen is actually turning on WM. The spirit of WPvP from ‘the old days’ was being able to see red nameplates. Since WM came out, PvP “enthusiasts” run around blue flagged with weak sauce excuses. Turn WM on and keep it on.

WPvP died because the alliance are crybabies. They got farmed every day, and rather than organize and fight back, they just whined and went to WRA. They were a sad group of defeatist losers. All the leftovers just get stomped, so regardless of what any alliance say on here, 99% of them keep WM off - and always will - because they’re cowardly hacks who are an embarrassment to the entire community.
Also, as one of the best known former community leaders, the server definitely took a hit when I retired. Sadly, no one has had the competency to fill the void I left. Without me, it may be impossible for ED to recover.

What’s left of Battlehammer is still ready for the fight. We’ve been having to find horde by grouping with horde on other servers because you stinkers can’t be found.

Horde is just as guilty of keeping warmode off until they have a squad out.
Like yeah they’ll bring 40 out to fight, but that’s usually the only time most have warmode on.
So pointing fingers isnt really helpful.
