Blizzard really needs to actually think things through when they make some of these changes. Community Feast recently went from a 3.5 Hour wait to a 1.5 Hour One. So this means from there being 7 events in the space of just over a day (24/3.5 = 6.8), there are now 16.
This means the groups are much smaller. This makes it extremely difficult to get the feast up to Legendary quality for Bisquius to spawn. Personally, I now have moved beyond fingers and toes counting the number of times this has happened.
Then, if that’s not bad enough, if you’re lucky to get one that’s going, the server may decide to phase shift you to a different one. We had the soup up to Legendary with just over 2 minutes left. All of a sudden the majority of us got shifted into a new phase with one that was just barely Green quality. The timer, naturally, bugged out and shows 14:59 left until it abruptly ended.
Seriously Blizz, you really need to actually sit down and plan some of these changes out thoroughly before you implement them.
You designed CF so that Bisquius requires Legendary to spawn, yet you now made it so it is harder to get that status. So now the entire payoff for speding 15 minutes doing this event is practically eliminated most of the time. Either buff the gains from doing tasks or nerf the levels. Also, since people can do CF more often, TURN PHASING/SHARDING OFF for it.
You took an event that was fun to do and turned it into something folks go “Why bother? It’s just going to fail anyway.”
it is very server/shard dependent as to how many people are there - did one early this morning and we got legendary 3 and there was about 25 people there at ~ 6-7 am.
And do you have a 100% success rate with this new format? Because I can count successes on one hand and still have fingers left over. To count the times we got it only as high as Epic, or gotten Legendary after the timer expired, I would need to sprout more hands.
I have seen very little ppl feeding the event at times though like OP said regarding sharding which prob is the culprit.
Just swapping toons can show one has alot of ppl running around and the next toon has next to nothing and stays that way. A buggy system for sure but since it sorta works that’s good enough for Bliz.
yeah I was actually surprised that it was a 3 - haven’t seen one of those in months.
I did one of those one morning and about 40 people on one character and about 10 in another shard on my second character - same server but the second was in my bank guild.
Have only failed to spawn the rare once so far since the new format. After reset day, i LOVE doing the event with maybe 10 players or less. I have gotten many a level of renown because of the amount of orders given. After the first time each week, theres no use in doing it unless you are farming renown. After that one chance at the pocket, its only really good for renown. I am talking full levels of renown without the 100% buff) from one feast with few people and spawning the rare.
That’s the real problem right there. Phase shifting out of a near-completed event (has happened to me multiple times on the primalist event) is absolutely NOT acceptable. Though, the feasts have other problems like not being able to get a response from the NPC to pick up the quest b/c the server is so overloaded, not being able to see what you’re supposed to do because of all the spell effects, etc. The whole thing is very poorly thought-out.
I’ve done that a few times when it was clear there weren’t enough people to reach legendary but I get strong pangs of guilt when I don’t see it through to the end.
Groups are smaller cause people now don’t have any reason or don’t want to do it. I noticed these events just disappearing in size and not surprised… DF is
I only do the feast once per week now to complete the weekly quest, for a chance to loot a flavour pocket. I found it better to gain rep via a contract and just did world quests and finally hit max renown last week.
