Community feast not giving credit

I grabbed the community feast quest and participated in the entire event, yet I got ZERO credit toward the quest. I was actively returning meat/fish, killing stuff, and using chef’s hat special action any time I saw it.

I was also not in a group or raid… this was for the event that just ended.

Please fix this quest, this is the 3rd time I’ve had it fail this way over past 2 weeks.

Same here last night. Got 0/5 done and was there the entire 15 min.

Are you actually doing what the chef is telling you or just randomly hitting things and pressing special action.

Because that’s not how you do the event lol

I try to, but there is so much spam going on that how in the heck does one actually have a hope… I definitely killed one of the big guys and brought his meat back to pot, as well as a number of other things he “requested”, but no credit at all…

I just did that cycle and I got 480 rep - my second after today’s daily reset

Maybe try turning off your addons

are you interacting with him to get the orders?

I know this is going to be a stupid question, but were you in a raid?

When the event happens, right of your screen above your quest logs should be an objective window indicating what your task is.

Follow it and you should get credit. Task range from tenderizing things (kill the meat/fish), throwing escaped fish back in pot, stir the pot, catch a fish and throw in pot, stomp hermit crabs, fetch items from around the camp, press special action button to “supervise” other players. Each task completed awards 25 rep with tuskarr and advances your participation by 1 for the quest.

The event is not just doing random things lol.

I stated that I wasn’t in group or raid in my original post.

Ignore what he says and wait for a request to pop up in the event area of your quest list (there can be an almost a minute delay between requests). You’ll also need to click the chef’s hat extra action icon (“Yes chef!”) (maybe not?)

I don’t click that hat most of the time and I still get credit

Good to know, thanks.

This is the magic! Thank you so much guys! For new people, the request shows up in the text right below the Kitchen Duty count down. If it says buy something, the vendor will have the quest glow, if it says catch a type of fish, look for the fishing pool nearby.

The only things that count are when your quest objectives update.
It will say things like wait for orders from chef kinook.

When that changes that’s an objective. Unfortunately protecting the pot and bringing the meat that those things drop do not count. If it tells you to wait for orders from the chef and you do other people’subjectives it still does not count.

only those objectives you get from waiting by the pot. Fortunately you will know because the chef hat icon will appear that says “yes chef”. Look on the right side of your screen for your objective

Depending how many people are there it can take anywhere from 25 seconds to a little over a minute to get a new objective

That’s the odd thing I got credit for everything and i wasn’t in a group and didn’t even follow those side quests and managed to get 3/5 the first time and then the other 2/5 the 2nd time it came up

Something that should be easily patched but is ignored.

Just had this happen for me as well, was there the full time and got zero credit.

For the credit for killing the dude at the end, you need to kill the dude at the end. That’s different than the little Tuskaar kid who gives you the weekly quest to help out in five ways.

It can be hard to see that the kid HAS a quest for you in the general hubub, especially since the quest doesn’t spawn until a little into the event.

For the helping out five ways, watch your quest tracker. It will either tell you to stand near the chef and wait for orders, at which point you can help do stuff that will improve the soup quality like kick fish in, stomp crabs, fight trout heads and meat, etc, but it won’t count towards your 5 quest credits.

Once your quest tracker changes from ‘wait for orders’ to a specific thing, do that specific thing. He might send you out into the village to get ingredients on the ground or from specific NPCs, he might want you to fish from a nearby pool, or he might want you to do one of the ‘normal’ things like fighting the meat and trout in the pot or kicking fish in. If you do the specific thing that he told you to do, you should get 1 credit towards the weekly quest. If other people finish it before you tag in on it if it’s a meat/fish fighting thing or a fish kicking thing or a crab stomping thing, you won’t get credit.
