Community Feast needs to scale with how many people have tasks

So, the other day I had a feast, we got legendary 3, it was good, lots of rep.

But over on a guildies shard they finished their feast at 225/250… yeh, a poor-quality soup. He said there was 3 people there including himself, I had like 80 at my feast.

How is that even remotely fair? Even if half the people at my feast were genuinely AFK and not doing tasks, we still got 4000 additional points over legendary, and this poor guy could only muster 225 in his shard.

Since they’re a guildy, their shard experiences shouldn’t be too dissimilar from yours. However if we’re talking connected servers or different times of day, that can change things. Did your guildy try to post in the LFG? That’s a way to port a whole bunch of people over to your shard.

We were both doing the feast at the same time and it was night and day difference.

It’s quite possible that another user there started a group and brought in a bunch of others.

Second question woukd be, why didn’t you guys form a party if you were literally at the same feast and his was so quiet? If you had invited him he could have joined yours.

Doesn’t always work that way, I camped Breezebiter early in the expansion when there was a ton of Cobalt and feast groups basically all the time, sometimes you would invite a friend into your group and you would be phased into their shard.

I had a good number of times see Breeze spawn, CC it, invite a friend I knew was camping it on another shard, and be moved over to their shard losing the spawn on my shard.

What does it even matter what the soup quality ends up as? An extra 100 rep for killing the mini-boss at the end?

The rep along the way is also sped up the more people that do it, there are 5+ rep levels, with each level and each new legendary level spawning a mini boss, that alone is worth quite a bit.

Plus the more people that do it the fast those group tasks get done. One a smaller shard you could walk out with a couple hundred rep if you are lucky, on a full shard you can get upwards of 3K rep per feast, more than one entire renown level each time, it certainly adds up.

If only 3 people show up to feed the village, then I guess that village starves. Natural selection.

I would rather see them cap the number of people on a shard in that area -if someone makes a group they get shunted to an empty shard.

I wouldn’t even feed anything less than legendary quality soup to starving children.

Oh there is a cap, but it needs to be lower. Having one shard get legendary 3 at the same time another shard cannot even get past poor is quite bad and could easily be helped by lowering the amount of people per shard.

Why is ‘fair’ a component here? I understand there needs to be some scaling (re: dragonbane keep) but there are thresholds at either end of that spectrum. I’ve been there with 50+ and with 5. It happens… but it’s not unfair.

Because it’s not fair to some when you get into a shard with such little people you miss out on rep, or can only play at a certain time when there is no one online, considering how little things give Iskaara rep, it’s not like you can just do more WQ’s, if you get unlucky constantly with your shard you miss a good amount of rep.

This sucks and happens to me often (east coast/morning playtime), but it’s the reality sometimes and I don’t think it’s a fairness issue. I just get Tuskaar rep more slowly.

I wouldn’t worry about it.

Have you even TASTED the soup? It’s freeking horrible.

But it does make for a great laxative.

Sounds like it’s gonna be an easy way to get achievements and rep post dragonflight when doing it solo…. Oh wait.

I have yet to see a legendary 3 since they changed things to make it easier to complete the quests.

The times when there is enough people to do it, there is so much lag no one gets any orders and the bar barely moves.

Completing your own weekly quest has not changed how it works to increase the food level, you still need to complete the task, it just now can give you 2 ticks of your weekly quest per task instead of 1.

I’ve seen legendary 3 once, we got it seconds before the feast was over, past legendary 1 it is nothing more than increased rep with more bosses spawning, but the fact there was that many people at the feast mean the fish and meat tasks were being done super fast, and that gave fast rep.

Before that - they made another change about getting rep from attacking npcs and something else as well. I did a lot of these in the first month and I would often see multiple legendary stacks - after they made the first change to make it easier I haven’t seen stacks over 2.
