Dear Community Council,
I realize that you were not elected by the players, but now that Blizzard has instated the Community Council so that the game developers feel they can safely discard all other sources of player feedback, I hope that you can use your voices to help the majority of players, and ultimately the game as a whole and even Blizzard, who seem intent on making decisions that drive the player population down further and further.
As you have likely guessed from the title, I am asking that the Community Council be more vocal about Blizzard’s sudden, deliberate, and prolonged overtuning of the timewalking Mage Tower to the point of it being practically impossible for the majority of WoW players, who are already on average more skilled than other gamers in general.
The biggest issues are:
(1) Most of the encounters are more difficult and tuned differently than the original encounters, leading to disappointment and frustration among the loyal fans that wanted to experience the encounters again.
(2) Most of the encounters are overwhelmingly more difficult than the versions tested on PTR, leading further to disappointment and frustration among players that expected to be able to complete certain encounters.
(3) Most of the encounters are more difficult than any solo encounters this game has ever released, leading further to disappointment and frustration among longtime players who are starting to wonder whether WoW is becoming the wrong game for them.
Whether you have already completed your challenges or not, and whether you care about the rewards or not, you the hundred have a chance to represent the millions and help remind Blizzard that it needs to meet the expectations of more than a top few players if it ever wants WoW to be the biggest and best MMO again.

All specs have cleared it.

Supposedly the blues/devs are taking their Christmas leave and won’t be back on the job until early January (per the blue-post in the PTR forum)… or right around the time the Mage Tower is set to expire
With that in mind, seems kinda pointless to ask a Community Council player to bring up the issue tbh
It’s not like there’s a “shortage” of Mage Tower complain threads, the devs can just check the front page here or skim thru reddit

Yes, but almost nothing has been done to balance the difficulty gap between different encounters, and the average player is still having difficulty.

Agreed, the opinion of the masses matter.

The average player was not meant to clear the mage tower. It’s a challenge for a reason. Difficult as it is, it can be overcome. Don’t lose heart and you can find your path to victory!
-Signed, a proud owner of a flying book! And no, I don’t own any timewalking gear either.

I believe they’re more focused on PVP gearing. Which is good, cause it often turns out to be a hell of a lot easier to idle in BGs for a guaranteed item then suffering through mythics for a lottery ticket.
That is a horrible take lol.

Shooty person and a poor dig.
It’s close to being just right, with a couple more small tweaks and nerfs. Completable and still challenging.
Because of people like you, I hope to have the opposite and that they nerf it to the ground and every poor weeb goes and gets it.

People need their “epeen” and i would never understand this way of thinking like ever .

You should probably go read the 9.1.5 Mage Tower announcement, cause you are very, very, very wrong, lmao.

Of course, PvP gearing is a nightmare right now for both unrated players and rated players, due to the rating and currency requirements to upgrade gear. There should just be an Honor set and a Conquest set, no upgrades.

you think you do but you dont, if everyone could do it no1 would care.

But why does the Mage Tower have to be more difficult in timewalking gear now than it was in questing gear during Legion?
Is Blizzard trying to increase /time played, afraid that we would finish the Mage Tower too quickly because we already knew the mechanics?

Many players are disappointed that the mage tower isn’t much easier than the original, they just to get on, play an hour, and get their achievement.
Many players dont seem to understand that a ptr is for making sure the fight functions, and to attempt to weed out bugs. and that to ensure testing players see as much of the content (to actually test it) values would be moved around to assist that.
Many players don’t understand that the mage tower, a solo challenge mode, would be in fact, a challenge.
Mage tower is for everyone to try, and for many of them, possible to beat. You just a bit more patience than 1 day, which is when the forums got flooded.
There likely will be more nerfs each week… but it will still be difficult.
Every single player should have difficulty. its hard for everyone.
The average player was not meant to clear the tower very quickly. I think everyone who puts their mind to it can overcome the mechanics. I’ve heard of people with ping issues and that isn’t fair for them. but its meant to be difficult, but still doable.
I really hope metrics get posted, because i bet more people have cleared current mage tower in week 1, than legion week 1.

If that happens the worst that will happen to us is that we wont be using the transmog set that any jackass can have. Enjoy being one more in the herd.
Nah, that’d be like shootin’ fish in a barrel
Really doubt you beated in legion with questing gear. Ppl were complaining about it back then in here just like they are now.
