I transfered over with my name. I also had the name on this server. When i transfered I deleted the name. BUt when my main came over the name was still taken. But I know I still have the name because if I was able to restore and delete the name and keep the name. So if Im the one with the name but its as a deleted character why cant I have it lol. My name is in limbo. And there has been 0 communication for any of the on going issues.

I wouldnt even be upset if there was any communication at all but Blizzard is afk and they dont give a crap
If it is anything like retail, I believe it takes 30 days for it to be processed and become available again.
Only if the name isn’t on the same account iirc. I’ve deleted a previous toon and made a new one with the same name almost instantly (Hardcore deaths, moving off placeholders with wrong class ext).
Wonder how many threads you’re going to make on the same thing.

If spamming got a response the gdkp advocates wouldnt still be here, blizz doesnt even read these forums they are just a containment chamber for angry toxic players on their way to unsubbing

You don’t delete the Character holding the name until your ready to log into the transferd character for the first time and rename him. Somebody probably yoinked it from ya bud.

Sounds like I went through the exact same steps you did for 1 of my transfers and I was able to delete the lvl 1 placeholding the name and rename my transferred character with that name.
This is possibly an issue specific to you and your account in some way, just thought it might be worth sharing that so you have the context.
I still have 2 characters waiting to be renamed until they expand on the last post from [GarnetHound] on how the Reclamation was essentially never turned on or functioning.
Thats weird, so you tried to rename your character to the name you had on an alt. It wouldn’t let you, but it recreated the Alt with that name when you tried?

I know there’s a temporary hold on a name when a character is deleted. I’m not sure, but if I recall it’s 10 minutes. I didn’t think it held the name on the same account tho, Try deleting the alt, waiting 10 minutes, then renaming your character on login.

Shucks bud. So you had the alt deleted for an entire day, Tried to rename your main, It wouldn’t work. But you were able to recreate the alt with the same name?
If thats the case, something is borked in your account.

Blizzard doesn’t read or interact with these forums because their feelings get hurt. (Im not kidding.) Your best bet at actually getting help, is on Twitter.
i have posted manytimes on twitter and i have 3 tickets from 3 accounts
Couple of questions for you:
- Is your alt with the name that you want on a seperate account?
- If yes, was that alt above level 30?
If the answer to both of these questions are “yes”, then unfortunately you have to wait 30 days for the name to become available. I’ve played on two different accounts since 2019 relaunch and have encountered this issue a couple times before.
Currently in the same position because I had a character on LF + CS on two different accounts (both mages, both same name). Just gonna have to pick something else and accept my alt mage will have my main’s name lol.
