I know it’s not the highest priority for many people, but the current iteration of the command table in SL is in an appalling state of balance.
I’m Venthyr (eww a Venthyr Hunter), and we got shafted hardcore. Some of how followers are hopelessly undertuned and it puts Venthyr (and as I understand Kyrian) at a severe disadvantage compared to Night Fae and Necrolord.
Take for instance Rahel, my Rahel is at level 37, she has 1175 health, 335 attack (which is standard), but her ability is 105 damage to the closest enemy and 105 damage to the furthest enemy on a three round cooldown… which is quite poor damage. (I seem to recall seeing a certain NF follower who at level 15 does around 150 damage to all melee on a three round cooldown; like how is it even possible such an extreme disparity when live?)
Or what about Stonehead? My Stonehead is level 30. He has 1600 health, which is nothing special for a tank, 80 attack and an ability that does 24 damage to all melee… which is laughable damage. Sometimes you need a meat shield, but a lot of the other time that just prolongs the duration of the match, which increases the damage the rest of your team takes.
I don’t want to belabor the point too much, but I’ve seen what sort of followers the NF and NL have and quite frankly a lot of their followers are better at 15 than mine are at 30.
There are other issues beyond this, particularly the obscene amount of anima it costs to do missions and how long it takes for them to recover naturally. What’s this you say, I did a mission for 50 anima and now all my followers are at half health and it takes 500 anima to heal them, or I can wait about a day for them to heal back to full? Like who designed this nonsense.
I know the mission table isn’t high on anyone’s priority list, but these things aren’t hard to fix, seriously. Halve the anima cost it takes to heal things, at least, and then give another anima cost reduction at the tier two adventure table covenant sanctum feature (that was a lot of qualifying words). Then double the passive healing rate for the followers, so at level 30 I’m not lucky to do more than one mission a day.
As far as Venthyr is concerned several of our followers need buffs. Namely Rahel needs probably a 25-50% damage buff on her ability, Stonehead probably needs an 100% buff. But Nadjia, Theotar, Ayeleth, Dug Gravewell and our melee troop also need moderate damage buffs. A lot of people like to complain about Kaletar, but if you pay attention her tooltip isn’t right, she heals every round, not every five rounds like the tooltip says (please fix your tooltips blizzard).
Don’t wait several more weeks to see how balanced things are once we have a full roster, my blatantly undertuned followers are still going to terrible compared to the roster of NL and NF, who typically have followers and troops who are objectively better on every level.
Not that much is stake, although I’d probably be making an extra 500-1000 gold per day and a decent bit more anima if I were NF or NL instead of Venthyr. But on an entirely different level Blizzard, it really reflects poorly on you to have something remain in such an abysmal balance state for so long after expansion release.
That’s all I have to say on the matter, but I hope it will get some attention.
