I dream of the day I see “Coming soon, Mythic Flex Raiding!!!”
At least this is what I would like to see in future expansions so that more guilds can at least try to do that content
Guilds should not have jobs in game to take your gold (and a lot of times credit card) and provide you with Mythic raid clears.
Free up the Mythic raiding for everyone!
Time to 1 man mythic raid
It can’t work but I would welcome better designed fights. The weak aura boss shouldn’t be a thing.
I miss 10 man raids.
Wouldn’t the community find the optimized comp set up to do the boss and then that becomes the standard , so whats the point of flex ?
That is, and also mythic raiding should be able to accommodate a 10 man (or flex), they did it (made 10 man raids) in the past, no reason they cannot do it again
I just want them to remove the lockout system. It only exists to keep Mythic Raiding exclusive. In a game where more and more of it is focused around solo players, its the only thing left that requires a sort of roster and sitting people and stuff like that and, frankly, it’s the only thing that limits my progression.
It’s not exclusive because the content is difficult and requires organization and skill. It’s exclusive because so few people want to participate in a system that requires locking 20 people into a scheduling situation with no substitutions allowed.
I would have to quit my guild and break ties and friendships in the name of progression if I wanted to participate, otherwise I join a pug that breaks apart and I’m not allowed another chance to participate.
I don’t want them to make it flex. Keep it cutting edge difficulty. Keep it finely tuned to 20 players. Just remove the artificial lockout bullcrap.
I’ve already stopped paying for the game. When my in game gold runs out, if they don’t do something about this seasonal reset and the Mythic lockout I’m done. I’m sick of my accomplishments getting erased every season. I’m sick of the gear grind. I’m sick of getting super hard stuck at Heroic level gear unless I want to grind out endless Mythic dungeons for once a week chance of getting one piece of gear. The gear comes SOOOOO easily and then there’s nothing else because of that lockout. And then they introduce insane catchup mechanics for everybody else towards the end of the season so my accomplishments are meaningless by the end of the season. So, yeah, I’m not gonna keep doing that. Maybe I’ll enjoy the next season at the beginning and take a long break until the end of the season. Maybe I’m just but a few more months with the tokens. But I’m not giving them any more actual money for this crap.
And their writing and storyline makes me soooooo disinterested.

Mythic flex and lightening up on whatever other archaic systems they still have in place would be great. If they want to avoid the issue of flex being abused/wildly changing throughout the fights for race to world first, there could still be a requirement that you still need to have 20 players for Hall of Fame/World First eligibility, but not for Cutting Edge and other such things.
The only thing I could foresee being an issue is Mythic specific mechanics not being able to be tuned that easily for a changing amount of players.
I agree. Lose the lockout system.
It would contribute to building communities more than their reasoning that having a lockout builds them.
Everything else about mythic is fine.

I propose to you that removing the lockout achieves these goals more effectively than flex Mythic raid.
And it was a balancing nightmare during Cata and MoP after they made the change that 10 and 25 mans rewarded the same gear at the same item level.
mythic raiding will never be open to a majority of wow players until ion gets his head out of his rear and stops designing raids that require an addon to even attempt it

Not likely, since with smaller sizes, they can’t assume you can field one of every class if needed (something current mythic does, and most people like that it does), and we see what happens to the M+ meta at times with 1 specific comp being perceived as so much better than anything else that you have to play it or you’re trolling, and with the tuning targets of mythic, this is far more likely to happen in 10 player than 20 player.
10 and flex also constrain the design space of the fights, which makes the encounter design teams job harder.
For example: Halondrus Mythic, widely regarded as an amazing boss. Not only does the fight just not work if there are fewer than 12 non-tanks in the raid, having extra people in the raid would just make the fight easier (more people to bounce the balls away from the boss).
Or, for a more current example: Mug’Zee.
How do you do 4 or 5 gaols with only 6 DPS? The split damage from applying the gaol will 1shot you if you try to solo it, which will enrage the add and wipe the group.
You already have mythic flex raiding. If you mythic raid its a flex. Get it!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
