Ive never played melee, been ranged for years. need somehting different for season 2. thinking of playing a fury or ret pally. fury seems alot more fun and easy to learn. any suggestions would help. thanks
Depends all on your playstyle. are you PvP or PvE?
In my experience; Fury is okay for PvP.
Arms is the bread and butter and it feels very smooth to play for PvP.
I’ve seen some really good Fury Warriors Top Damage charts in raids.
(This is the only first hand experience I witnessed for PvE Fury)
So if you just want to get in there and just live the warrior life of mashing buttons and rampaging with no thoughts head empty, play fury.
Ret on the other hand is a lot of utility for your team and for yourself. So a team player type of playstyle along with good consistent burst windows every 1 minute.
Don’t let other ppl trash that class for being FoTM.
it is really fun and it has a lot of utility when it comes to PvE and PvP.
Watch videos and see which one suits your play style better or which one you think you’d want to pursue the most.
Ret paladin is an easier transition because you can increase range on all of your abilities to not be directly in melee and still be able to dodge melee swirls
I have played caster for years. Decided it was time for a change. Made a High Mountain Tauren arms warrior for pvp and I really like it. To me, it made the game new again, learning curve definitely going to melee from ranged after so many years. Hope this helps and good luck.
Play ret. Its way easier to start doing good dam than fury. Even though its getting nerfed its going to be so solid, esp in S2 where a ret brings some nice utility to dungeons like underrot and brackenhide. As a warrior you don’t bring shiet.
Play Ret & War and decide recommend leveling from 0 to ground up cause it’s best way to learn the classes and what you prefer.
I never played a caster, but as a melee with Leather classes. Warrior is extremely fun plus having a tank spec is a game changer.
Good luck! I gotta try a range next some day lol
Although ret brings more usually, its funny you mention brackenhide because warriors group wide fear-immunity will be huge in this dungeon specifically, like very much wanted.
Fear immunity IF you spec into it sacrificing something actually useful when you could just interrupt the fear.
Youre not really sacrificing anything “useful” though. It will be used. For sure. There are 2+ mobs in most packs that can fear the group. It wont be an easy “just interrupt” and as an oh crap button, will be great in said dungeon, wipe-saving.
Please tell me how “nothing useful” will be dropped for Beserker Rage, you’re dropping either impending victory - or rally. When you could just interrupt the mob and pull packs accordingly. And no there aren’t 2+ that can fear a group if you’re pulling correctly, and if you do get 2, assign skull to one and x to another and communicate. And it wouldn’t be wipe saving even if you took it, because everyone gets feared, meaning - you pressed Beserk - GREAT, but now the rest of your team is running into other packs. You really haven’t thought this through.
Clearly, every m+ group in existence communicates like this and never screws up. Clearly most warrior builds also always being rally to m+. Man, i didnt think any of this through and forgot that every m+ group is a well oiled machine always made up of completely competent and experienced players and nothing ever goes wrong, ever.
yeah and you’re totally gonna be brought for speccing into that. cope
Well it’s certainly nice utility for that dungeon ![]()
I’d recommend ret. Lots of tools to save you for when you get ranged-brain.
