Coming from a soloer, shamans are hardest class in the game

Because you don’t really have a point. You’re talking about some niche playstyle of trying to do one certain type of content and not everyone plays classes the same way or that well.

Joe could be awesome at Shaman and prove you wrong. Sally could suck at Mage and prove you wrong.

I found arcane mages to be pretty easy from 1-119, though the difficulty went way up at 120. Their shield wasn’t sufficent freshly hitting 120. But get some leech gear and benthic set, and it became easy again. I’m not too much a fan of mages though tbh, so I don’t really play one very much.

Shamans were a ton easier in WoD though. The amount of healing they had through glyphs and other sources was really high. I didn’t feel nearly as squishy in WoD as I did in legion with my shaman, though I’m pretty sure the amount of damage they took was less, or maybe the amount of self healing they did was good enough to make up for the squishyness

Really? :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

I have an Enhancement Shaman and she’s almost godlike like my Frost DK.

I’d have to agree with you. I’ve heard shamans have had issues for a long long time! My friend came back briefly in cAta and quit soon after cuz he hated the direction they were going with totems and stuff.

He said he had a gifted year sub in bfa and stopped playing a few weeks in due to sheer boredom.

He was an enhancement shammy so not sure what the problem with them is

False equivalency.

Just because one class can’t do something that another can, doesn’t make one HARDER than the other.

Still haven’t countered my point.

There is NOTHING special at a class soloing stuff every other class can. What is special about soloing stuff everyone can solo? That just proves that shamans are nothing special in that department.

If you went with that line of thought, then whenever someone asks what class can solo, you can list every single class and that be wrong and trolling. because when people ask for solo classes, they are talking about “hard” content. That is the most common thing people ask for in that topic. They aren’t talking or asking about content everyone else can solo or they wouldn’t ask and just pick whatever class they wanted to solo on.

Enhancement Needs a massive rework (i want to use 2 handers again)
And ele could use some love

As I already said… you don’t really have one.

I can’t solo world bosses on many of my characters. So again… you don’t have a point. Not everyone plays the same way. Nor is everyone out to solo world bosses.

When people ask what class is best for soloing, they’re usually talking a out leveling around here. Your niche way is something I have never heard of before on these forums.

And if people ask me which class can solo or leveling best, I usually tell them either a pet class or whichever they find they’re the best at.

I’m doing spectacular with Enhancement and can rip things apart pretty well. I have a couple friends who do high keys as Enh and do pretty well, too. I don’t think “massive rework” is needed.

Well guess that settles it

“Hardest solo class”
“No! We can solo stuff any other class can, but… not anywhere near the top solo classes.” (which quite a few specs and classes are actually really decent at soloing)
“okay so at the very best, not the worst…but…mediocre then”

That is pretty much the feedback I got about shaman soloing. Granted, I’m sure rogues aren’t too good either, never really hear about them often when soloing comes up. And I’m sure there are some specs that are bad…so…at very best shamans are mediocre at soloing.

I suppose if every class was top end for soloing, then…there’d be nothing special about any of the classes and make the game too easy.

Though shaman used to be a ton better in WoD. I dunno how many played shaman in WoD, but the amount of self sustain they had was insane. They had I believe two glyphs that healed them, able to heal more often and…I believe their spirit wolves actually healed them, but that might been part of the glyph. They had other sources of self sustain too, but they could solo pretty crazy content back in WoD. That was my favorite shaman, but then so much of their self healing went away.

I think because I liked the WoD shaman so much and what I mained in WoD, going from that to what they ended up in legion…so much self sustain was lost, that it wasn’t the same at all.

I personally think everyone has different experiences, I know people who ave trouble soloing as a warlock, it really comes down to the person and play style.

I think if you enjoy the class, you’ll have a better experience solo or not, just currently classes are in a bad place… and they not planing to do any revamps :frowning:

I’m all for Ele/Enhance heals being buffed by 50% so they actually put a dent in our hp pool when cast. Gotta love having 300k hp yet my heal only gives me 27k back.

Well can’t disagree there. like paladin is considered top solo class, but I really dislike playing them so I actually do pretty bad on a paladin (all 3 specs I don’t like). Can’t refute that point. Maybe people who like shamans a lot more than I don’t find the same experience. Though I did enjoy shamans a lot in WoD, they changed a lot after that.

So maybe I just didn’t like how they changed after WoD was over, so I don’t play it as good as I used to. Like paladins that I’m bad at…the only time I’ve been good with paladin is way back in vanilla/classic WoW lol. But the way they are now I’m really bad with their mechanics, even prot. Plus my tastes changed so it isn’t really a class I’m as interested in as I was back when WoW was new.

Don’t get me wrong shamans on earlier expansions way more fun… MoP was a highlight for most classes…

BFA really hasn’t been good for classes, I’m praying changes come in the ptr for new expansion fixing a lot of the classes…

I find it hilarious that I say the same thing earlier and all you did was rage… yet someone else says it and suddenly you’re in agreement.

Yeah…I dont know…I love shaman because its literally pretty versatile and sturdy as crap.
I boosted a shaman and even in BFA its ripping down the house. I thought enhancement was giong to be lame at higher levels but its actually toasting everything in its path. Im having to pull a TON of crap in on myself to feel any challenge at all…same as lower levels with resto or enhance, at the least.
Havent gone too nuts with comparing elemental yet, though

Having leveled two mages to 120, I could solo stuff on my shaman way easier than my mages. I could do a lot of it on my mages, but I had to work a lot harder for it.

I think every class can solo most content and get to 120 solo… some just more comfortable then others.

Uh…maybe because its not worth mentioning?
I run Resto for all solo content for the most part. Its one of the best specs for soloing in the game short of maybe BM monk.
Im spongy, yeah…but thats what heals are for.
With enhance, Im not finding any problem at all soloing content. The DPS its doing just banging four little keys is pretty impressive.

shaman is my favorite class anymore after running every class in the game for a while and trying every spec.
Are you sure your playing it the right way?

he’s talking about extreme soloing. like doing raid bosses by yourself and stuff. i told him he should change his op to reflect what he’s actually talking about but he said he didn’t need to for whatever reason.

I’ve had the most trouble soloing with Rogues and Shadow Priests. Maybe I just suck.
