Coming back to WoW after 5 years

Hi I haven’t played WoW in about 5 years but I do want to get back into the game.

Right now I have this PC

Ryzen 5 1600
16gb 3.2ghz ram
Radeon RX 570 4gb
500w psu

what should I upgrade for Shadowlands?

That PC will be fine for shadowlands if you plan on having graphics set to around 7. If you are aiming for setting 10, I would looks towards something like the Nvidia gtx1660 super. If the CPU is a Ryzen 1600AE then maybe a cpu like the 3300x or 3600 if your Mobo supports them.

As much as I love a good upgrade you might want to wait for 2 reasons:

  1. The next generation is going to be out soon
  2. Since it’s been 5 years, you might as well play for a while before you sink money into it

Your experience won’t be horrible - just turn the settings down.

Now if you have your heart set on upgrading now, that’s a different story! :slightly_smiling_face:

Overclock your 1600 if you aren’t already, and get a new GPU.

Maybe 5600xt is the highest I’d go with that CPU.

Should be fine, I played with a GTX 960 up until the third raid this expac. Your graphics card is a lot faster and your processor was better than mine at the time.

If you have a Microcenter near you, you could upgrade to a Ryzen 3600. Your motherboard would need an updated bios first.
