Coming back: to do at max level?

I’m coming back after a break and I am not sure what improvements they’ve made. Can I ask what is you list o things to do at max level? I love advancing my character, finding transmog, mount hunting, rare pet hunting, upping my gear levels, soloing things that are hard, battle pets, and anything that gives me a shiny reward - does not have to be elite end game rating - just fun.Specifically:

- Island expeditions: is there a reason to do them? they’re fun but I never understood how the rewards works - is it clearer? can you get fun or meaningful rewards?

- war fronts: same as above - are they worth doing now? can you do them more often? are the rewards clearer? i loved these things but its like they made them hard to do - never knew when they were available and I never understood what to do for what rewards

- Mythic: i have never done these - is thisthe main end game? do you queue up or need to go to the entrance with a premade group?

If you do anything else for fun - transmog runs, rep grinds, etc - please let me know. WoW has always been that game where I log in and there are a ton of fun things to do. I left because I could not find that. Any ideas?

Thanks all.

These are great for leveling, AP grind, and conquest. They give you a lot of experience leveling and you get fast queues. Running them on heroic level give you some fast AP gains. And running them in PVP gets you conquest points even when you lose.

They’re easy, pretty sure impossible to lose. The weekly Arathi one gives you 370 loot, and 340 loot for winning. Darkshore gives you 355 loot, and a weekly quest for 400 loot. When the opposing faction is playing them, you get access to the zones which give you unique mounts and more gear.

This is some people’s end game. They progressively get harder the higher you go. Also the higher key you are using the higher ilvl rewards you gain. Different affixes are added each week to change up the gameplay. For example, one that is happening this week is Grievous- When injured below 90% health, players will suffer increasing damage over time until healed above 90% health. You will need to find a group and go to the dungeon entrance for these.

We still have pet battles, which are a nice “break away” aspect when I get burnt out doing the above. The brawlers guild is pretty enjoyable, and I constantly find myself just watching everyone else die lol. I also enjoy old transmog runs, and find myself enjoying the Trial of Style wayyyyy more than I should.

You mainly get AP from them, but there are also rare pets, mounts, and transmog available exclusively from completing various IEs. The drop rates truly are random though, so you may go through the same island hundreds of times without getting anything. I think I’ve gotten a total of two pets and a pirate hat xmog.

The instances themselves are more for getting raid-level gear without actually raiding, however the associated world zones still have a chance to drop pets and mounts from the rares. In terms of the instances, the gear rewards are obtained simply for completing the scenario. What you get will be completely random from the relevant loot table (which is not available to view), but will always be 340 (Arathi) or 370 (Darkshore) baseline gear, with a 370 (Arathi) or 400 (Darkshore) piece available from the quest NPC by the scenario table on the Boralus docks for your first completion, assuming you picked up the quest.

They’re about the same as they were in term of difficulty at the beginning of the expansion, although now with two available both factions generally have one or the other available at any given time, although at times one faction or the other does end up having both open for a few days.

The short answer is no. Mythic dungeons are not the “main” end game. Technically the “main” end game is either progression raiding (Normal, Heroic, or Mythic) or instanced PvP. Mythic dungeons are basically a step-up from Heroic dungeons. Mythic 0 dungeons can only be run once per week each, and are only slightly more difficult to complete than their Heroic counterparts.

Keystones (Mythic+) are the extension of that, creating a “challenge mode” timed version of the dungeon where you are only rewarded upon completion of the instance (individual bosses and trash do not drop loot) and have to contend with both a timer and additional mechanics.

As noted, you cannot queue into a Mythic or Mythic+ dungeon the way you can queue into Normal and Heroic. Instead you’ll need to make or find a group of your own and locate the physical entrance of the instance to walk into.
