In the comic “Son of the Wolf” - Anduin is quite old and leading a “final” attack on Legion, saying “let the fight begin” at the end of the comic.
Is this really going to happen?
In this comic, he seems to have regained the Light and even wielded a hammer against one dreadlord.
If there’s going to be a fight against the Legion… does that mean that whether Azeroth awakens or not, the Legion will still be a problem?
The ending of that i believe was with the void lords
Theres alao the possibility of sargeras breaking out of his prison
I don’t think it was ever said who he was leading the army of the light against, it might’ve been the voidlords
I’m also pretty sure almost immediately after the comic they said that that scene was more a “what if” and not actually canon.
I remember the what if part. Its been a while since i last read that lol
I could have sworn the ship was headed towards a fight with void lords though
you’re probably right, it’s been a bit since I’ve read it too
I believe it is canon as they even went back to make small changes for a new idea on the future. 
They havent gone back on anduin leading an army of light pprophecy so i get the feeling that its becoming more and more canon (army of light being the denizens of azeroth)
I also get the feeling we will end up being similar to the ethereals where we fight them on other planets

That “vision” of the future was given before Illidan convinced Velen and the rest of us that telling fate to kick rocks is fun, I doubt we’re beholden to it anymore.
It’s vague enough that Anduin could’ve been participating rather than leading. Kinda like how we always assumed any Old God whisper relates to the present expansion. 
…although I went back to read it and it’s back on light versus the shadow. I feel dumb as I recall it was changed for enough time. 
Funny enough, big chance the Titans would Titanforge Illidain and then his destiny will resume. Probably.
