Come to the other side guys, it's nice over here

PVPwise. After starting my day playing my resto shaman and having a jolly good time. I decided to play a game with my mage. Lol no thank you, yet again.

You see on the other side, these are something you don’t have to worry about because unlike mages, shamans have a developer fighting for them:

  • Not getting three shotted by hunters
  • Melee trains aren’t so bad. People have time to peel because you can survive for more than 5-10 seconds after getting caught.
  • Being able to get hard casts off by creating space or redirects (due to a totem rooting, static field totem, grounding totem, capacitor totem). Pets that do the work for you. (Unlike useless mage mirrors that don’t even use the same school of magic as your spec =/)
  • Being able to use SUPER strong abilities due to instant casts. So many wonderful abilities.
  • Similar to mage mirror, everyone ignores my pets/totems and they do so much more work for me so I can have a stress free day. I can even insta redirect them somewhere else when someone finally catches on and tries to kill one of them. <3
  • I can reset most of them too thanks to USEFUL talents on tree. Sooo many useful talents.
  • Having multiple schools of magic i can fake a hard cast and not have to sacrifice my blink/displacement/alter-time, dragon breath, or my circle of frost. God forbid you get interrupted in 2 schools at the same time. God forbid you fight a hunter that has counter shot, silencing shot, AND pet stun all at once… =/
  • Can’t cc a druid (with polymorph/hex) while he’s casting improved polymorph aka cyclone on you? No problem. Developers got your back. Capacitor totem, oh and take this talent tree that stuns them and waits for you just to stun them all over again. <3
  • Not having to cast crappy arcane surge while every other dps class has a insta-burst mode (minus shadow priest). Hell I can even buff the whole team and give them 20% increased crit chance because I am nice guy with developers that say “yeah, they totally need this” xD I also have Time Warp too just one up mages.

So yeah, if you haven’t tried it, join me and get back to enjoying PvP (I am super serious btw, it’s a lot more fun).

I’ve been playing resto shamy with most of my time and it is nice. Im starting to get some big heal numbers and not even 4-piece yet.

I’m still hoping I log in one time and they quietly tweaked arcane to the better.

In fact, a simple change like having ToM explosion trigger on death, or affect the mage directly regardless of target would instantly make it more playable. They just have so many easy options to smooth it out that it is truly disheartening to me.

Just realized for my resto shaman I can craft 2 trinkets that are A tier….just so much better world over here.

Just started some 18 keys and man shaman heals is where it’s at! Can’t plug the idea enough. If you are a mage player like us and burned out, pick up shaman heals, it’s a nice break from being punished for playing.

Whitewizard here, this is my shaman healer  just in case anyone want to throw me an invite to heal you.

Oh and healing mages is basically easy, because they get one shot, so they stay at full health, or are dead, you rarely have to heal them, haha. As a shaman, melee classes are nice to heal because they always close to the tank for chain heals and healing rain. Ranged gets tricky because you have to keep an eye on them.

Oh and guys, people say things like “Good heals!” And “Thanks for keeping us alive” when you play with them. It’s unreal, there is gratitude involved. I’ve never had anyone say “thanks for that DPS” as arcane mage, lol!

I’ve kind of been leaning more towards switching to druid because I like doing it all in one class. I also love Sunfire DoT spreading compared to shaman’s single target Flame Shock. That said, I still really enjoy my frost mage.
