I figured I would resub and just try to play for fun, try a different less played spec than I have ever seen in WoW. I hardly ever saw survival hunters. Well apparently everything has changed. Every single hunter I walk by is a survival hunter. I didn’t notice this until I got to SL content. But dang, now I really don’t feel like playing because I thought I was doing something a little different.

It’s still the least played Hunter spec by a large margin, but wanting to be such a contrarian is a little weird NGL

FoTM.
Due to poor balancing, BM Hunters forced to choose something else so a lot of them landed on Surv.
SV is pretty outstanding right now, both by balance and design.
Don’t be afraid to give it a go - as Bulletproof said some of the boost is from BMs who will likely go back to it after either a buff or Dragonflight launch, so SV won’t be as popular then if that’s your concern.
If it makes you feel any better sv will prob be in an even weirder place next expac given the already conflicting statements made by the development team.

Don’t worry, it’ll go back to the least played spec overall as soon as it isn’t FOTM. There’s no reason to expect otherwise because the changes that propped it up are temporary. So you only have to endure it up for a couple months.
