Cover it with buffs before the go instead of mindlessly popping it or cc all 3 people like rmp does on the go. Sounds like a you problem.

How about combust is no longer purgeable but it works like old hellfire and every button you press kills you 
You are a mage, the enemy’s keyboard should be disabled when you bust. No need to worry about purge.

I’d be for combustion when they make dispel go back to dispelling one debuff at a time like it used to be. A few weeks ago I had gotten my warlock up and running and only wanted to play affliction because I never really played a dot spec. I would spend 5 gcds getting them all up, then pop all my cds to start blasting with rapture then a single purge removed all my dots thus wasting all my cds.
What really sealed the deal for me to stop playing it was all the different ways people have to cleanse off my dots. Hunters have FD, dks have anti magic shield which makes it so you can’t even apply them, rogues have cloak of shadows, pallies have bubbles, and of course healers have cleanse.
After experiencing this for a few days, I was like nope - going back to my warrior and enh shaman.
